complaining about hairstyles, which look bad already since 10 years lolLet's just call it for what it is: This graphic update is a hot steaming mess. Not just small texture issues but anatomical ones, too. We have clipping issues and seam- issues left right and center. Hair textures got worse here and there looking like Playstation 2 design. It somehow looks like we've lost polygons in the making which is absolutely atrocious. The images from the Thread creator are a good example. I found some on my own as well.
Some examples which don't look serviceable at all. Plastic textures, flat textures which are bent into all directions to give the illusion of modelled hair. I didn't check other hairstyles because I got sad.
HD texture definetly didnt make this worse, it was bad from the beginning
remember when i told you people to keep expectations low? .....this is why , gimme my damn fangs back
why is WoW living rent free inside your heads?
Literally who cares? SE won't rollback the new changes because they know 99% of the player base uses mods/reshades and they endorse it by looking away.
Just wait for the mare lamentorum bunnies to fix everything.

This is not necessarily true. The Japanese fanbase, for instance, is very adamant about their anti-mod stance and players go so far as to shutting down in-game photo studios if someone with a modded character uses their hashtag. And judging by the responses I'm seeing on twitter, this benchmark has been quite contentious around the globe. The first complaints I saw this morning were from Japanese twitter users. Western, mod-using fans are not the only people who play this game (and even if they were, I still think the integrity of vanilla characters matters.)
my characters feel like entirely different people to me now. they lack the personality i felt they had, and in a lot of places have had their eyes/lips/nose literally change shape or move.
No it isn't just lighting, i ran through the benchmark with them and no matter the angle or lighting they feel like extremely different characters.
My Au'ra, for example;

I've got nothing to add except that every point in the original post is completely correct. Please, Square Enix, make this optional.
I agree with OP here, these graphics are NOT ready for release. At the very least, they should make it optional, so that those of us who don't want our characters to look like half-baked wax candles during cutscenes where we would like to see the characters we've, assumedly, worked hard to customize the appearance of to our liking, actually look like what we are expecting.
i've noticed that black hair does NOT look black but more like a dark gray on certain races? i hope this is just a shader/lighting issue but its a pretty noticeable difference compared to the current black hair
