The sad part about this is, and everyone will disagree with me, as many people have already said this.
The lighting. Thats what is changing 'shapes' you are seeing from before. Before characters were lit from hard angles causing shadows to cover parts of the face.
Now the light is hitting the characters more full-on and refracting properly.
Yes there are some other issues such as eyelashes and eyebrows. But face shapes, lip shapes... haven't drastically changed, at all.
Just... just stop
Why are people so intent on flexxing their lack of eye for details this hard
Let me help.. Curved line =/= Straight line
It's more.. rounded now? Are you sure about that?
I'm just gonna say that if it's not something you notice then perhaps it would be a good idea to take a backseat from the conversation?
and no I don't believe it's a "bug" per se, it's a consequence of them redoing the UV Maps and as a result textures from scratch and not paying enough attention to how things used to be, which is basically what causes the major grievances people have, not the lighting.
??? You literally just said it was noticeable my god can people stop trying to throw around "big" words like lighting as if you were somehow more in the known about development here, lighting doesn't just turn curved lines into straight ones. I don't think anyone cares about your outlook here, the feedback is towards the devs, and you just come in here and act like you have some sort of authority over things when you can't tell basic geometrical shapes apart, then try to save face by saying "it's close enough ,deal with it" Honestly don't know what y'all get out of this. You're clearly not affected nor do you care.Being hostile towards me won't improve my outlook on what you're saying. Yes the general outline of the lips are the same. Yes, they are less pronounced /after/ the change.
It however does not change that they both, are in fact, similar with different lighting.
I would argue that the lips in the original look more 'kissy face' due to the shadows than they were supposed to.

Thank you for your contribution to this thread, very cool. The sad part about this is, and everyone will disagree with me, as many people have already said this.

You know, sometimes it's okay to admit you're wrong.

They changed the shape, size and shine of my character's lips for absolutely no reason. Just because a dev doesn't like shiny plump lips I guess?? You can see there is a shadow (blue) where the lip model is but it was never colored in. The people who liked the thin lip look already had 3 other options to choose from and after this downgrade I'll have none.
