And where is WoW now? In a swamp. Well deserved.

That is not remotely what I said and WoW has had a myriad of issues beyond "my orc looks different."

I do find the complaint that "it doesn't look the same, to get it looking the same I have to change it in the settings" to be a little strange - they're giving us the fantasia in large part because they know this will happen. I had to change the lip color to "light" on my character too, it strikes me as perfectly normal for them going from Literal Skyrim to PS4, especially alongside stuff like new lighting models too.

I do find the new lip rigs to be strange - and mind you I play an M Au Ra - and the teeth need better definition/are just way too white in a way that makes it look like they're glowing, as well as the facial scale textures just being far too low-res for these closeups*. but other than that I'm pretty hyped that somehow my boi is even prettier. Also I am pleasantly surprised by how the lighting changes make the shorthand I use for him missing an eye look even more dramatic.






(also, lol ppl were complaining about the limbal rings literally two days ago and now in the benchmark they look the same. goes to show there really is some things that are a waste to fret about)

*the errors earlier in the thread makes me wonder if they managed to compile this with earlier or incorrect textures included.

I'm fully expecting to be shot down for voicing my thoughts, but: I have to agree with a few here that some of the criticism is overly dramatic.
Yes, there are genuine issues which do definitely need fixing ('bald patches' on some male characters etc.) and some features which appear to be disliked across the board (lip appearance, removal of race-specific features etc.). But other complaints are based solely on individual preference: some complain the appearance is glossy and plastic with no texture, while others complain about too much texture and visible pores; some say it's aged their character too much, while others complain the changes have made them look like children. They're never going to please everyone, no matter what they do. Some much prefer the changes.
What suprises me is how much of a crisis this has created for a few: seeming to pick up on the minutest change and argue that it's ruined the entire game for them - 'That eyebrow is thinner at the edge. I'll never play again!'.

Yes, we are all very attached to our characters and what might not be a noticable change for others looking at our character would be far clearer to ourselves.
I would also add that there are changes in my characters that I'm not a fan of and would definitely look to try to change when the time comes. But for some to request for everything to be delayed, or for it not to be implemented at all, purely because of such slight adjustments, is going a bit far.

For those saying that "just use a fantasia": I literally can't make my face four viera look more like my viera with the tweaks existing in the character creation. I tried. I changed her skincolour and her eyecolour, but the small details on her nose have been removed, leaving a "potato" like nose instead of the straight nose I used to have. Her cupids bow has been removed while her lips have been made fuller and face four viera basically only has "full lips, fuller lips, thin lips and massively full lips" now as options. There is no saving her back by changing small things. Trying out face 1 viera they were not as affected by these changes. Face 2 seems to have also come out pretty ok. But face 3 and 4 are suffering badly.
I won't quit, but I will most likely fantasia back to my au ra, since imo they look great now.

It was dumb, but I did shed a tear seeing that I couldnt get her back. I have had my viera since their release and we have gone through alot together. It isn't only the graphical update influencing my decision, it is also the fact that basically no vieras are wearing hats in the benchmark, so I was alrady thinking of maybe switching of them. This just solidified my decision. She went from somewhat mature and detailed to a 12 yo with a flat face. and the benchmark playing couldnt save her either

are you joking? they literally said "we don't want them to look like different characters, we just want people to say 'look, my character is pretty now.' " verbatim.

You're objectively wrong though? JP players especially have been very diligent in documenting the changes and wherever something looks off, the topology of the asset is significantly altered.

I've also already look through the new face UVs and you can clearly see that the lip shapes aren't even remotely the same. That's...not something up for debate just because you can't tell. They're demonstrably different enough that the isolated asset side by side has close to no similarities.

If you woke up one day and looked in the mirror, and the corners of your eyes were slanted up or down by one millimeter, or your nose bridge was one millimeter wider or thinner, or your philtrum was one millimeter longer, you would immediately notice something was off, even if you couldn't put a name on it. Human brains are attuned to noticing tiny details of the face, and the more familiar we are with a given face, the more acutely we notice anything being different.

What are you trying to accomplish here? For those of us who are upset, telling us that "stressing is unnecessary" isn't going to help or change anything. Emotional reactions aren't something you can just flip on and off like a lightswitch.

Then again, I shouldn't assume that you're acting in good faith or trying to help when one or two pages ago you were telling people to touch grass and making fun of them for being upset.
