Highlander Eyebrows - 7.0 Graphics

This has honestly been driving me INSANE- Especially so now that there are multiple Highlander NPC models with eyebrows. "Lore" is an insufficient excuse. Taking away the option for players to give their male Highlander a different backstory than Gyr Abania for something as superficial as eyebrows is disappointing at the very least. Furthermore, even if all Highlanders must be from Gyr Abania, surely not all are warriors and would shave their eyebrows. I was somewhat appeased by the makeup option before Dawn Trail because option 2 is a shape I like. Still, now that they've changed them significantly post Dawn Trail, I seriously cannot stand it anymore and have considered using the free fantasia to switch to another race. I hope they either give us eyebrows in the future or go back to how the makeup is applied to the face. I love this game and I love my character. I hate to have something as simple as eyebrows/lore restrictions sour the experience.

I was playing with the eyebrow face paint earlier. Apparently, and correct me if I am wrong, the eyebrow paints on Male Highlander Face#2 are placed differently between lighter and darker colour. The problem exists regardless type of eyebrow on face#2, but face#4 seems uniform when it comes to eyebrow paint.
For now I just put my character in lighter eyebrows (and thus lighter hair and tanner skin) since the difference of expression to former version is nagging me to no end.

P.S. : On darker eyebrow paint there is actually gap between the eyebrow and the shadow on eyebrow ridge, but I am afraid that the problem is the other way round--color bleed on lighter eyebrow paint.

I think the lore answer is that they actually dont have eyebrows because the hot sunny climate or something.
Which doesnt make sense because that climate actually produces heavier eyebrows and hair as skin and eye protection from the sun. The wiry and often curly kind genetically, as curly hair can cover more surface area without retaining more body heat, and carry more oils which protect your skin from drying out.

Yes, cold climates produce more body hair too genetically obviously for warmth reasons. The curly hair type tends to be a wavy type that can poof up and retain heat better.

Midlanders are the ones who have a subtropical implication and that is the climate where humans develop the least body hair genetically.

But not having eyebrows doesnt exactly make for a fantasy feel like elf pointy ears and tall frame.
Youre just... a guy with no eyebrows.

Yep. At this point we have TWO Male Highlanders with eyebrows. Which kinda baffles me.
They do be like avoiding giving all playable highlander eyebrows and instead making custom face to just put eyebrows on Male Highlander base.
I am not really sure what is the purpose there lol

And of course, we are still under mercy of face paint eyebrows. Aaaand somehow the placement/shape between different colors is still not the same. Oh for heaven's sake.

The lore is that all Eorzean highlanders come from the same group of people that followed a culture of scarification, shaving eyebrows, removal/sharpening of some teeth, tattoo's. The problem is, these are all optional parts of the culture in the lore, which is why there are some highlander NPC's with eyebrows. So it's just a lazy hang on. Their biggest priority will be putting out an apology for how bad this expac is, in about a months time when the sub counts come in low. Between wuk lamat, the meh graphics update, and the complete and utter botching of almost every job, by late august they are going to get murdered by the wow expac, and based on how bad things are in the state of the gameplay and story in DT I think they will struggle to get any of the players back. Which does mean they will try and win people back with low hanging fruit so simple cosmetic things like this might get picked up then.

I just saw the Viper job quest NPC, Keshkwa, has eyebrows. It's been mentioned in this thread, I just wanted vent that this just means that the eyebrows are already in the game, they just need to enable the option in in the character editor.

Give player highlanders eyebrows it's been 10 years already...
There's no excuse to give them to npcs and not players. This isn't a situation where people are asking for an NPC unique face. Just an option.
I remain in full support of this. Let the handsome highlanders have eyebrows.
