Thread: Highlander Eyebrows - 7.0 Graphics

This has honestly been driving me INSANE- Especially so now that there are multiple Highlander NPC models with eyebrows. "Lore" is an insufficient excuse. Taking away the option for players to give their male Highlander a different backstory than Gyr Abania for something as superficial as eyebrows is disappointing at the very least. Furthermore, even if all Highlanders must be from Gyr Abania, surely not all are warriors and would shave their eyebrows. I was somewhat appeased by the makeup option before Dawn Trail because option 2 is a shape I like. Still, now that they've changed them significantly post Dawn Trail, I seriously cannot stand it anymore and have considered using the free fantasia to switch to another race. I hope they either give us eyebrows in the future or go back to how the makeup is applied to the face. I love this game and I love my character. I hate to have something as simple as eyebrows/lore restrictions sour the experience.

Please for the love of god add eyebrows to male highlander already. People have been asking for this since ARR launch. I know how to 3D model and this isn't something that takes more than 10 minutes to do... I will do it for free if you let me. Highlanders look so much more off without eyebrows now that the faces are higher res, and the eyebrow paint just doesn't cut it anymore.

Agreed. I only mentioned it initially because I fully expected the first reply to be "but what about the lore?".

There was that rumor that they're half Roe and some people took to saying that was why. But that's not even true. They're not half Roes. And even if they were, Roes have eyebrows.

I suspect the real reason is that they were based off of General Leo's amano art from FFVI, and in his original art depictions, he has no eyebrows.

It's incredibly silly, but I guess that's just how XIV rolls.

I'm kind of scared for them to give Highlanders eyebrows, because I don't know if they'd give us good eyebrows or not. The spray paint has never looked good to me, and my fear is that they would do worse than that.

It was mentioned long ago in a Q&A about lore that they had once shaved their eyebrows to look more menacing and intimidating. But I'm pretty sure that's where it ends. It's not like a "all Highlanders are born without eyebrows" scenario, but more of a tribal behavior. Certainly nothing that should make it impossible for modern Highlanders to have them.

Eyebrows should be a toggle option, there's no good reason they can't add this.
