It's kind of unfortunate that this has to be my first post on this forum, but I really feel like I have to make my voice heard on this matter any way that I can. This thread really highlights how dirty the viera, both male and female, were done by this update. I'd say most of other races got major glow-ups in general, even in cases where certain things ended up looking slightly different than before.
As a male rava face 3 player, the first thing that struck me was how much darker the lips were by default. They also look less defined. The chin is also weird and the nose looks off. And whatever happened to the eyebrows? I'm using option 4 in combination with the thicker eyebrow feature, specifically because I don't want them looking plucked when they're visible. Now it looks really thin somehow. Not to mention the lack of shading on his skin.
Before and after pictures, using the exact same options.
Part of me still wants to be optimistic and think this will all sort itself out by the time Dawntrail drops, but if they don't fix it I can see the overall viera population decrease significantly. As a massive fan of Matsuno's works and everything Ivalice, the announcement of male viera coming to Final Fantasy XIV made me extremely happy. I never thought I'd even consider changing back into something else. But here I am doing just that.

I can't even see the difference aside from one image being slightly lighter than the other.
Bunnies are just NOT okay.
They share the same problem as everyone else, dead eyes, ugly flat lips, creepy wax skin, but were also done dirty (literally) with their noses. The topside is made more dark even if it wasn't before (you cannot disable this) and the underside looks.... green? Yellow? It look really odd, like they panicked when people (validly) complained about losing bunny noses and someone went in there real quick with an airbrush. The whole face looks so low contrast in the lighting, except the nose, it's incredibly weird.
Please, do not release in this state.
I think alot of people have come to discover that they simply do not have an eye for detail when it comes to faces. In the above example, the benchmark version looks dull, and the facial expression has gone from (at a quick glance) content to bored. His face looks dirty now instead of having regular shadows and his mouth and chin have completely changed shape. His nose looks flatter and gives the illusion of being shorter and wider in the benchmark. All in all I would never have guessed that this is the same character, I couldve guessed this is the same face with different choices for nose and lips and chin sure.
I keep thinking "I will get used to it" but looking at my char in the benchmark I just think she looks like an ugly waxdoll and I absolutely hate how the new matte overdrawn lips look like when she smiles - it looks like a banana smile, Idk how to explain it. But basically every character I have seen smiling in the benchmark get a really weird bend on their mouth now. It looks very unnatural. I hope the benchmark "fixes" the issues. It's kind of unfortunate that this has to be my first post on this forum, but I really feel like I have to make my voice heard on this matter any way that I can. Jepp. Because in the current game the lip colors are buggy if you combine them with certain faces. My Elezen and my Miqo are affected by this bug. The bug puts a sort of grey veil on the lips and you do not get the color which you selected. It seems, that the DT benchmark fixes it.
Cheers
One thing I noticed that I'd overlooked before: male Veena faces (possibly Rava too, I haven't had the heart to check my Rava characters) are like... plaster-y? They have a texture that bypasses any attempt at skin texture and goes straight into being made of unpainted wall. It might be less severe with more natural human tones but on my guy he, uh. I think the Light he ate during ShB is coming back to haunt him.
(link since it's not embedding)
(Also, his lips look terrible and completely wrong compared to how they look in EW, but I hate looking at him in the benchmark cc and haven't found a good replica of the lighting on this shot.)
If you're referring to the strange shadow edge on the cheek, it seems like an issue with your benchmark graphics settings; my equally gray rabbit's skin texture actually looks fairly natural in the same shot, as does this random Rava's that I rolled. Pictures linked below, because I can't get spoiler tags to work lol

Try messing with the antialiasing and resolution settings if you can, and see if that helps with the Light-eating side effects!
Nah, I can see the plaster appearance in your character's face, it's just less notable/widely spread--so while the severity could definitely be related to the fact that this machine (while much newer than my old one) is a hand-me-down never intended to be anything but a spreadsheets workhorse, it still looks like an issue with the texture or lighting or both. (also these are mostly default settings outside of gamma. They're likely too high for the machine, but I only get a Low, not an Inadequate).
I agree that I don't see it with the random Rava and so far my personal testing with Rava (https://imgbox.com/Om5xBQyR, https://imgbox.com/kGmWZIjy) has not shown it, which adds to the suspicion that it's not purely machine-based and is instead a rendering issue with the benchmark.
Mao sad. Bunnys gonna nots look as tasty as thems do rights now. Mao thinkings when DT arrives, Mao mights has to stroke Bunnys off of Mao "Good Eats" list.
