I also absolutely hate the eyes, I feel like there is something off about them. It is almost as if the graphic update erased the detail in the original eyes.

I'm pretty sure a lot of the weirdness with eyes can be blamed on removing the painted catchlights for the sake of "realism," which I guess means having no shine at all in most lighting conditions because the sun isn't blasting directly into your character's eyes. It looks very creepy.
