I'm really not understanding the complaints I'm seeing. From every before and after I see it looks like a straight upgrade in every way. To each their own I guess but I think the graphical update looks amazing

DT changes isn't an upgrade in every way though? Like my character literally looks objectivity worse without any changes on my end.

While it may be an upgrade in your eyes, in my honest opinion this is not the character I've made.
The character is supposed to have an air of being older and experienced and the graphical update actually de-aged him to a degree that ruins the character I've designed and grown attached to.
The eye and nose shapes are completely different.

My friends keep telling me it looks fine. I think this is someone else.



The details of her nose are gone which makes her nose look larger than what it was before.
The definition of her lips is gone as well, she had a cute cupids bow and it looks like she went and got filler.
The colours of her eyes has changed from a blueish colour to aquamarine.
Before I could take off her eyeliner and she would look "fresh"- now she has a constant thick eyeliner on her eyelid with the darkest black colour.
Imo she looks terrible.

I'm extremely unhappy too. It feels like we lost all of our identity, lips are a complete different shape, make up looks weird for bun boys, and our noses don't look like bunny noses anymore really. I'm gutted.

Another thing that I haven't seen being touched on yet is it looks like they haven't increased the textures on the ears as much/at all compared to the hair (at least for ear 4), which is painfully obvious when they sit right next to each other on the head

Lightened, greenish and waxed in the character creator. Looks weird. I can't choose darker skin and hair since they're already the darkest...



Face 1's optional black tattoo on the nose is now reddish-brown:

which I don't like, so I had to remove it. But there's still a brown shadow on his nose.

At least my bunny looks much better in cutscenes than in the character creator (except for the brown shadow on his nose), so that's a good point I guess...

Oh no! You're so right, they DID forget to update the ear textures!

I'm overall happy with my face 4. Skin looks fine in benchmark itself, face geometry is almost 1:1, except a little rounder nose if you look from the side.
Lips are worse, yeah. Hopefully they will fix that. And raven black hair is now grey even in benchmark itself, that's probably my biggest complaint so far.

Hmm I dont think it looks "fine". THe one to the right looks pretty washed out, hair and skin lost its colors and contrast. Entire face looks bloated up compared to original. Also eyes lost its "spark" - no more piercing glance typical for Vieras. Also playing dark skinned viera, and got simillar results than you

And no amount of Fantasia editing will fix this due to limited character creator, because all these things are out of our control.

We have the same face (4) and I feel like we were put through a beauty filter but it went all wrong. If you are happy that is great for you tbh. I think your character went from lovely to dull and I would not recognize that it was the same character if I saw her. Her eyes look larger, nose rounder and her lips are completely different.
