    Another face 3 victim! I was really excited to see him with updated graphics but... what happened?
    The eyes aren't as sharp as before, the nose looks so much larger and the lips are a lot darker. The lips are easily fixed when picking a lighter lip color but why making them so different in the first place? They're also completely matte now when they had a slight shine before. The nose mark should also be optional, I picked this face because it wasn't as visible as on the other faces, this makes him look completely different. Beauty mark is also bugged.

    He doesn't look as bad once I jump into the benchmark but the nose mark is still an issue for me.

    Bit of a mixed bag for me, in terms of design the only real complaint I have is the lips, (face4 mouth 3) the top lip in particular is less defined, probably not much but the lighting perhaps makes it more obvious. Not awful, and in the benchmark proper for sure not super noticeable. Colours are a little different, think I prefer the old hair colour even if I'm not super opinionated between the 2 , I'm probably gonna make a point to use a slightly darker eye colour going forwards to accommodate for the difference though. Eyes in general in character creation look a little more soulless? I think its the reflections, which in the char creator I sort of look at and actively dislike, in the benchmarking it's less obvious, though at the end when the final score is given I felt my character was looking off camera towards the rating above the character rather than towards the camera itself, possibly related but at the same time maybe a whole lot of nothing.

    The only thing, I consider truly worse is the way the ears are reflecting light, particularly along the top half, maybe intentionally going for a really glossy sheen but to me it looks like they are made of plastic, they could even be technically correct based on lighting but I just don't like how it looks personally.

    Lastly I felt like lighting gives the jaw line less definition under some conditions but I expect that is an inevitable side effect of the changes. Not really a complaint, but i think it's added to why at times i felt my char looks very different but other times very similar Otherwise seems nice, indoors char creation lighting in particular made the char look much better.

    Not to say I hate it all but figured might as well post my opinion here on the off chance square is looking for feedback.

    Face 3 and I noticed the lack of eyelashes on the top of the eye, the eyes look more dead now with no reflections, there is this forced sunked look to the eyesockets with dark circles, the chin is a compeltely different shape, the nose is a different shape, the nose has extra baked shadows that make it look dirty, the lips are much larger than before and facepaint and makeup is still low resolution.
    On top of that the whole lighting just makes everything look way more washed out and lower saturation than the current game.

    I think the worst part is people actively looking at everyone's character and then saying "it looks better with the benchmark". I don't get it. Every single face looks like it has ben thrown into wax and made into a soulless doll. I don't understand it.

    I feel like I got really lucky with my Viera in that she actually feels like the same character but I can also recognize that she didn't have a super defining lip shape before. To me it feels like Rava Face 2 has the least amount of discrepancies compared to pre-graphic update.

    That being said, much of what people have been saying is still valid. Also, the subtle sort of shading near the inner corner of the eye is way too subtle in the graphical update. It feels like maybe the devs wanted to pull away from texturing shadows and let the new shaders do all the work but it's something subtle that I noticed missing:

    This shadow + highlight isn't as prominent in the 7.0 update.

    I do feel like the actual lighting in the character creator is busted. At the very least, La Noscea seems to put this ugly super shiny wet filter over my character's skin. In the character creator it feels like the lighting is ramped up so character models resemble the models from the GTA Trilogy Remakes: Oddly bright and translucent skin + super white scleras so eyes have too much white in them. Those two combined lead to really weird uncanny looking models.

    I think the Benchmark and oddly enough the preset character picker (not the character creator) use really good lighting. Now I'm afraid that most dynamic lighting out in the world will have these weird issues we're seeing in the character creator.


    She looks phenomenal in the actual the actual benchmark even with a non-default/not touched up yet hairstyle.

    I'm so happy that you feel satisfied with your bun, she's gorgeous. But I have a feeling that the changes look less drastic on Raava (on certain faces only) and it's more obvious with Veena due to the lightness of the skin (and the textures looking blown out because of it).

    I like some of the changes, but the biggest thing that bothers me is the new nose.

    SE changed the profile of my bungirl's nose and made it more upturned in the update, so now it is less rabbit like. The lips are flat and they changed the color.

    The ears are higher res and that's a change I like. They could be softer and less defined however. It conflicts with the new, softer hair.

    Overall, everything is smoothed out and much less angular. My face is wider and rounder. There's some subtle changes but it makes my character look entirely different.

    I tried to illustrate what I think are the problems



    Mainly the problems I see are the shadow on the eyes being so dark and covering half the eye when even the current shadow ig is already too dark imo, the lip shapes are straight up changed, they all are straight or turned down at the corners. The textures for the eyelashes and eyeshadow seems to just be smudged and darkened instead of upscaled and the bunny nose is less defined. I dont understand how they could mess up so bad, all they needed to do was upscale the texture resolution and apply the new shaders...

    I'm also still salty male buns get dyable eyelashes, I always find the fem buns lashes look too dark when you have light hair... that's a seperate issue but the darker shadows and smudged eyeliner just make me hate it even more....
