Viera Changes

I am not a Viera main but the whole reason I was enamored with Viera enough to make one on my roster was the dusted bunny nose and the current changes have really.. scaled that back. He looks like he has a normal human nose now with a slight darkened bit to give a subtle bunny nose rather than BNUUY NOSE and that makes me sad.

I'm not as attuned to Viera features as Viera mains but I do agree that, of the characters I've seen for the Benchmark, the Viera were done dirty.

yeah i was pretty shocked when i jumped into the creator (before on top, after on bottom)



she looks better in motion and after an eye color change but i'm still disappointed with the eyes. the eyeliner that can't be changed is way too dark/thick now and there's less eye shine

Male Viera face 2 looks too weird now...it lost some of its feminity for a more masculine look which looks jarring and the eyes on it...it makes it look like you have big bug eyes especially if you have large irises and those irises are the most solid black...also can we not have the brown nose on all faces? If I wanted that I would have went with face 1.

Yeah so... also chiming in, I don't understand why some of these changes were even made.
I'll disagree with OP on the lighting for the most part. The lighting is an improvement, even if it does light up the dark side a lot sometimes I think it's fine and just different.

But some changes made to the textures seem both unnecessary and bad.
Lipstick is a much different shape. The lips are a whole different shape and changes the resting expression. Noses got changed a bit.
Optional eye makeup also looks less pronounced because the lighting has given less contrast to the face I think.
Why were the iris and pupil changed so much? The old ones looked so good and pretty high quality compared to the other races. Veena lost their larger pupil.
Where did the lip shine go not just on Viera, but all females?

Veena eyebrows, the updated hair, and the lighting overall looks better I guess but all my friend's Viera look so different with the new lips.
I haven't seen any Viera that looks the same but better because they really changed how they look by changing the lip shape which was one of their defining features.
I'm guessing the Veena pupils being the same as Rava was an oversight.

Throwing my (non-existent) hat in here to express my extreme disappointment. I've been maining male Viera (Veena) since they were released in Endwalker, and despite the short timeframe, I came to love my character immensely.

What I see now in the benchmark is not him. I use face 3, mouth 3, and the new mouth is terrible in comparison. In addition to being an inexplicably darker color, it's also a different shape. The change can be diminished somewhat with lip color, but the shape remains bizarrely flat and featureless.

The eyes are also empty and lifeless, with muddy colors, unclear textures, and strangely smaller pupils. Changing the eye color does not alleviate this; it only makes them darker or more washed out.

Male Viera definitely look weird now, coupled with the fact that there's no viera hats in 7.0 is really disappointing. It's like they aren't even listening to feedback.
They didn't even address the weird noses people commented on months ago when we got our first look at it.

Yoshi P had confirmed that visible hats for Viera and Hrothgar will be coming to 7.0.

Blech all around. Really disappointed with how the Viera turned out, just seems like they really shifted the feeling of the faces. Not in a good way, either. Hopefully SE hears and fixes it before launch.
