Viera Changes

Personally, I'm REALLY unhappy with how the Viera changes have turned out. The lighting is.. strange? My character seems to be constantly illuminated regardless of being in shadow. That's not a major issue compared to the eyes.. OH GOD THE EYES!

She looks dead behind the eyes. Her eyes look like they're constantly half closed, which is caused by a shadow on the upper half of the eye. Previously her eyes seemed bright and open, now they feel dark, closed and just kinda.. sad? Her eyelashes look mushy or something. The darkness on the eyes makes this issue worse and overall completely changes the look of the character.

The problem is that these are things that can't be fixed by a fantasia. These is no way to correct those issue because they're things we have no control over in the character creation.

Bunnies are just NOT okay.

They share the same problem as everyone else, dead eyes, ugly flat lips, creepy wax skin, but were also done dirty (literally) with their noses. The topside is made more dark even if it wasn't before (you cannot disable this) and the underside looks.... green? Yellow? It look really odd, like they panicked when people (validly) complained about losing bunny noses and someone went in there real quick with an airbrush. The whole face looks so low contrast in the lighting, except the nose, it's incredibly weird.

Please, do not release in this state.

In reference to the nose darkness above, it was mainly Male Viera Face 3 that suffered from that change. Its bunny nose was very subtle compared to all the other faces, and I think they tried to make it more obvious without really thinking about the facial balance. It's a shame because I like the idea of it being more noticeable.

I'm also now noticing that Rava & Veena--both genders--have the same exact eyes now, when Veena used to have larger pupils, akin to Keepers of the Moon. A lot of these changes are feeling more and more hasty...

I noticed some similar strangeness on my Raava Viera character's eyes too- it's like there is a weird super dark "half-moon" over the top part of her eye that really changes how her resting expression looks.

Her skin is also constantly glowing as well in the character creator, which looks very odd on a character who is supposed to have deep skin, but this at least seemed to be mostly alleviated in the actual benchmark test scenes.

The most significant issue I have with the update is the drastic change that was made to my character's hairstyle, specifically the highlights:



The front of her fringe and her braid have had their highlights completely removed and I'm kind of devastated. As you mentioned, this isn't something I have any ability to change as it is inherent to the hairstyle itself which is extremely frustrating.

Please, do not release in this state.

I'd rather this update not be a part of the Dawntrail launch. I'd much prefer they take their time, push it back a patch or two until they've managed to solve this problem.

Why has my viera been downgraded so much?

I had to change face completely to try and fix him which meant loosing his beauty mark which is sad. Can we not get some of the facial features like colour lashes, beauty marks and scars made universal across the faces if we are gonna have to make drastic changes to our characters like this?

I'm extremely conflicted with these changes to my viera. My darker skinned character here has had her bunny nose entirely removed, not to mention the big difference in eye colour? Her nose and face look blurry, and the new lipstick looks god awful. I wonder how they managed to mess things up this badly. I have been incredibly happy with my viera design for years now, and to have her face changed to something worse feels heartbreaking to me. She looks lifeless and like she's constantly frowning. I kinda understand why because look at those flat and dimensionless lips??



I am truly saddened to see my bunny nose removed like this, it's one of my favourite features of viera aside from the ears. We seriously got so shafted...

I was able to hide the mouth by useing lighter lip colour..
However the biggest issue for me is the eyebrows!!
They're grey and i can barely see them!!!.

Oh boy this is rough and now I can't unsee the weirdly prominent round chin on face 3.
