    UI Problem? Or ME?

Hi all, so I was playing FFXIV to day and i got to thinking, In FFXI I used keyboard only and it worked great, but for FFXIV i use a ps3 controller. Now thats fine and everything but I was wondering why does the mouse feel so sluggish?

I feel if I didn't use the controller I would want to play like WoW, now please dont flame me I only mean with the mouse and keyboard and how fluid it was in WoW.

so I ask is it just something wrong with the UI or is it my computer?

It's the UI, but go into your Configuration program outside of the game itself and enable the hardware mouse, that should help speed it up for you.

This is enabled by default since they introduced it.

It's a bit of both. The UI has native issues but your hardware can also affect it's performance.

Strange, as it wasn't on my computer. I had to go in and activate it to get my mouse to move worth anything, such a huge mouse lag before it was turned on.

No. Back in alpha/beta, it was software mouse - you needed a third party editing on the FFXIV.exe to get hardware mouse enabled. It wasn't introduced in the config until way later.

    "Since they introduced it."

As in, since they introduced the option to use hardware mouse, it's always been enabled by default in all of my XIV installations.

Odd. I've always had to enable mine manually.

Hardware mouse should be enabled by default, but its worth checking it anyway.

That being said even with hardware mouse on you still can't play this game very well with m/kb, 2.0 should be completely different though.

i started using a controller for the same reason not long after launch. if i was still using a kb/m i feel as though i would have already left because it is slow and cumbersome.
