Benchmark/Graphics Update - Show your WoL's before and after

As many others, I also feel disappointed with the lip changes. They look more puckered and I'm not sure why they changed the shape in the first place. I also prefer the glossy look of the current lipstick instead of the more matte look we got in the benchmark.
I do really like the limbal rings though, they look much more similar to what I was aiming for when I made my character!

My purpose with using the word nostalgia was to compliment my original point; which is that the vocal group in this topic have been looking at these old models for such a long period of time that they have grown a preference for them despite being objectively outdated compared to the newer models which feature a higher polygon count and a more convincing presentation of intended geometry.

I actually like most of the changes but I think male miqo’tes in particular were done dirty.

The difference in eye color is really upsetting to me. I tried lightening his eye color but there’s no recreating that shade of blue. Taking away the static catchlights and making the shadows darker really deadens the eyes. And I don’t even know what to say about the mouth. I’m used to the :3 mouth on face 3 but the shape and shading are so different now it kills the character. He’s supposed to be just a silly little guy but the update is taking that away. I’ll never change my character, I’ll live with it, but I’m pretty sad about it. Oh and what the hell is happening to highlights on different hairstyles? My boy’s look awful now, like he’s been practicing pictomancy and needs a shower, and I’ve seen other posts complaining about highlights too. It’s discouraging.

I mean if you're so insistent that you're right and everyone else is seeing things through a skewed and biased lens, then I recommend you use the right words, lest people misunderstand the point you've so eloquently crafted.

There are some improvements with the new characters, I'm not denying that.

"Players have been playing for 10 years, so they want to prioritize and take care to avoid situations where people don’t feel their character looks theirs."

But when they supposedly aimed to try to keep things as close to being our characters, they didn't really flawlessly succeed there, and thus the feedback players are giving on the forums and other platforms now.

Take Au Ra scales for example - sure they aren't as blurry anymore in the benchmark, but at the same time they became extremely jagged and changed overall shape, size and position.

I am really happy with how it's for my Hyran! I also tried other cosmetics and the new hairstyle an really loved it!

But I saw problems for example with my Miqoboy. His soft-look has gone lost and now he looks more like a bad guy. ^^" And my Lalafell is missing his upper lip.

I hoped they are going to update the charactermodels too a little bit, but I saw no difference. Elezen are still the most ugly elvenvolk ever. I really like Elves!!! And tried to play Elezen several times. But I just could not stand all their mistakes (massive broken neck, weird proportions, and so on). :c
And now both subraces have those dark shadows in their faces. When I looked at my former elezendesign (with the younger face) in the benchmark it looked really terribe, unplayable, for me. I made some kind of elfish-celestrial look. But with those dark shadows this does not work anymore.

All in all I think it's fine. For my recent mainchardesign it's fine. But I hope they put some more work in the current problems. ^v^

But sure, if your opinion is right that you like it, then other people's opinions can be right that they don't like it. You can't have one without the other. People disagreeing with you doesn't make them wrong. I prefer the old model for my character because the new one changes the shape and positions of most features, giving it the appearance of being just slightly off. Like if you walked into your house and all your furniture was moved a couple inches. It's fair to not like that. They're right to be upset. If you think that's not valid because it's not way you believe, that's a you problem. Time to grow up.

I'm not "resorting" to anything or trying to get a meaningless internet "win" in here; I think my sense of humor and commentary is upsetting to you, so I'd rather not keep engaging with you if its' just going to piss you off.
