They murdered my girl... the dark pupils combined with the hellsguard nose rhinarium/mark being so much lighter is not a winning change.

I had a look and noticed that while their eyes do seem more noticeable at night, it is disappointing for them to lose the coloured pupil, but the real shock is the nose detail having such a huge change. It makes no sense as to why it's now so pale and less noticeable as a feature to the Hellsguard!

Yeah, it's so incredibly upsetting to look at my Femroe. I've only done three of them but they all look off. The skin colors are desaturated, the lip shapes are very different. The way they did the eyelashes on a lot of the eyes make the faces look sharper... It looks like my girls have permanent /sneer on and completely changes the impression of them.



Skin color is LIGHTER and washed out and while I can make her a little darker to kinda correct it, I can't do that with my girl who is already on the darkest setting.



She looks ashy, greener and washed out and I can't make her darker. Her upper lip is thinner too.



It's so baffling that they lightened the ash on the noses so much, and the black eye shadow/liner. It's barely there at all.

Yes. If you were here for the stat squish discourse - this will be worse.

The only thing that people on the fourms/reddit/discord hate more than FF14 the way it is is FF14 changing in any way.

I'd normally be right there with you - stat squish? Stuff like that is necessary. Ability squish? Yea, we're getting button bloat again. Bring it on. Rotation changes? Looking at that old 300-or-whatever-step summoner rotation could literally trigger seizures.

But this? Some of these changes are really strange. Why are all the WoL EXCEPT their "canon" guy changed to look like children? And it's not just some of them, it's like all the female models have been aged down to teen, pre-teen years and the lalafell look more like plastic dolls than ever. Something isn't right with this design direction.

And Yoshida Dared to talk about the Au'ra dead fish eyes in a conference. they look more like dead fish now than before.

Honestly, when I see the number of critics and how unpolished the graphical update is with some races/face models (when it's good on other), how some of hte hairs don't have a HD version yet (For those who don't know, you can copy the creation data from your FFXIV folder, paste it in the benchmark forlder, then rename it, and select that model without any modification, and it will run with non listed haircuts - some already have an HD version, some don't), and they waited super late to give us the date, I feel they're rushing into this because the game begins to really suffer from the wait, and that the launch will be a "this zone is updated, this one halway, this one not" fest, and I expect the whole graphic update that was one of the point they marketed the extension on to end being one of argument against the game. I hope it's my slight paranoïa at work, but I can't help to feel warry.

1. The hair is... it looks... not as detailed as the original hair. I don't know. Maybe because of the way that the lighting affects it, but it looks flatter.

2. I also don't like how the lips look with the new lightning. It looks like it's slightly more upturned than before, which gives him a "smiling" look instead of a "frowning" look.

3. And I'm especially unhappy with the eyebrows, it's quite literally an entirely different eyebrow now than previously.

Otherwise, the ears look cool with the see-through portion.



Why did the eyebrows change so much? Now there is no option for a NON-tapered eyebrow, I specifically picked the eyebrows that I did when I started because it was straight.

I did have to tinker with the ring color, and I still couldn't quite manage to get one the right brightness, but otherwise I'm satisfied with how similar it is.
