Just to bring my thoughts into this. For my 2 main characters, I think they turned out fine:
Male Midlander:

Female Aura:
https://imgsli.com/MjU1NTYx
I purposefully kept the lighting and camera position consistent between the 2 images to better compare, exact pose is a bit harder (ie. i didn't try too hard on that front), (if anyone wants me to upload them as separate images, let me know). However, I think they turned out better in both cases.
I do agree though, some do look a bit off and not quite right. Some of the racial features being less prominent is also a cause for concern.

She looks like a completely different character to me...

I personally feel that the shadows in the eyes are too dark but the change that is devastating for me is that Fyllo's hairstyle has been stripped of his dark tipped ears. It's one of my favorite features and it cannot be fixed with a fantasia.
I wish the ear markings were a 'facial feature' instead of being tied to hairstyles.
I don't understand why all the other dark tipped ear hairstyles ported over fine but this one got washed out.
Please Yoshi P. Give my baby his dark tipped ears back!

Like others said, the new faces look flat, lifeless, washed out, less detailed, the lips especially. The upper lip is closer to the original though slightly off, but the lower lip is nowhere near. It's a different shape. Also the part under the lower lip is bigger in DT and changes the look a lot. Kinda feels like the lips are tucked a bit. The missing glossy effect also makes it look bland. The eyes are actually flat ... you can see in the side picture the eyeball is no longer a ball.
I am very disappointed. I was not okay with it since the first ever reveal of the Au'ra face, but hoped the final result would be closer to the original. This I rate as a Dawnfail.

I would have to say, I think I look just fine.
A lot of this seems to be due to the lighting, as it looks a lot better in the default environment than the outdoors environments, but the changes I don't like are:
In the softer outdoor lighting, she looks kinda dull and bored now...
- The upper eyelashes are much thicker.
- The eye highlights are not as pronounced.
- The lip shape seems a bit flatter? It seems to have a bit less of a downward curve now. The flatter shading and lack of gloss also look weird. (face 4, mouth 4)
- The hair color is really flat. The base color is much brighter, but the highlights aren't as bright.

Overall quite satisfied, it still feels like her to me. Only nitpick is how the lips have lost their shape and gloss.

I searched the thread and no one mentioned Gamma Correction.
A lot of people are having issues with the lighting on their characters. While I am not very happy with the actual model details and the seemingly Alpha state of the graphical update in the benchmark, you may be able to fix the lighting in the benchmark. In game you may have adjusted your gamma correction from the default 50 to lower. The Benchmark also defaults to 50, and you have to change it manually compared to in-game. If you think the lighting is especially bad and your character seems to glow or is "washed-out," please check the gamma and post.

this and that the actual in game settings outside of the benchmark include a character lightning slider which is not included is probably defaulted to 50 so your character is going to be a brighter so adjust the gamma a little you should get a better representation of what your character is going to look like.I searched the thread and no one mentioned Gamma Correction.
