What are your thoughts on DT full trailer song?

Was talking about that in chat that this was probably their weakest title song so far and I'm not sure why it feels so disonant.

Maybe it's the overly used "titan-rock" with vocals that's bugging me?
The vocal bits in general, especially the high pitched female vocal?
The melody or chords used in some bits?

idk - all I know is that the guitar/violin instrumental was by far the best part and I feel like they should have experimented more with Latin style of music for example but they seemed they took the familiar formula as usual.

That is because those are where the FFXIV army reside, you do not speak ill or criticize this game on those platforms without being downvoted into oblivion and possibly doxxed.

It feels more like an anime opening than something that exites me to play a Final Fantasy game expansion. It's an odd choice and shouldn't have been the main theme and I really hope it's not going to come up in game. The Endwalker theme danced between the lines, and got a pass. But this one's just blatantly PR for their band. I'm sorry, but make a more theme-fitting piece next time.

Hmm. I rate the full theme 2/5. It has some neat parts (the flamenco-inspired bit and the heavier rock sections, for instance), but the rest is chaotic--not in a good way. Most of it sounds like mid-1990s ska mixed with Christian rock in a major key mixed with a jazz band that was told to "just play whatever and keep up".

The sound makes zero sense for the theme of this expansion.

I don't mind it as the music for the trailer. The music video, though, is cringe.
And if this winds up the music for the opening cinematic, I'm going to be very disappointment.
It's a huge step down from the Endwalker opening cinematic music IMO -- I especially like the Old Sharlayan part of that.

The sound quality is better in the vinyl version, and it lacks the transitions to the other two songs played during Krile reveal and the Viper WoL fight. The transitions sound jarring in the full trailer.

I actually quite like the song, I didn't like it at first when the trailers were first coming out but it's grown on me since.

Overall I liked it, but the middle part (the song's grunge metal phase?) was a miss for me.

I remember when I heard Tsuki Wo Miteita (FF16) and No Promises to Keep (FF7 Rebirth) before I played the games, and I genuinely didn't like them, understand how they fit with the games and was pretty sour on them until BAM the moment in the game when they were used.

Tears, both times.

Soken is just a master and at such a caliber (In Nobuo League) that until I see his context for where the song plays, I'm 100% reserving judgement because Close in the MotherF$$$in Distance ALSO had me bawling at the moment when you REALLY hear it in game.

So I'm just vibing for now.

More importantly that music video was so sweet! I wonder if that baby is one of their kid, he looked like he was having so much fun. The video was the first time I bought into the summer feeling.
