How about no?
I love seeing the larger races on Torgal's back, personally lol. And I understand the reasoning, since Torgal is meant to be an actual, static character. I don't believe Argos scales either, correct? (I don't see people using him that often, so I could be wrong.) Ultimately, it's just an immersion thing.
It does look pretty silly. For those worried about the weight, Torgal can 360 spin toss a bird lady and helped fight Omega. I think he'll be ok carrying around a Roe.
For me it really comes down to whether he’s a joke mount or not.
I was excited to get a cool wolf-dog mount, but am now disappointed that he looks silly/comedic with my character riding him.
I don’t think he was supposed to be a silly mount - and that’s a bit of a bummer.
Not every mount has to scale in size, so i am in favor of just leaving it like this.
Sometimes rumors are just... rumors.
I still think something should be done about it, can leave it as it is now for the smallest races and then scale up from there and same should be thought about for other mounts as well.
When you get your own chocobo, it's fairly safe to assume that chocobos as an animal come in different sizes, and thus your character picked a chocobo that was suited to their size.
However, Torgal is not a breed of animal; he's one specific animal. I presume that's why the devs made his size constant, because Torgal has a canonical size and thus shouldn't change height based on his proximity to another creature's nethers.
Another mount that doesn't change size is the two-seater Garlond GL-IS motorcycle.
Flying over Eorzea with a max-size male Roe in the saddle and a male Hroth perched on the back of the sidecar is hilarious.
Props to Garlond Ironworks for the wee bike not breaking in half under the strain!
