The real Torgal has a canon size, but the Torgal mount is a construct the wandering minstrel (somehow) created specifically for us, it should have scale with race. When you get your own chocobo, it's fairly safe to assume that chocobos as an animal come in different sizes, and thus your character picked a chocobo that was suited to their size.
However, Torgal is not a breed of animal; he's one specific animal. I presume that's why the devs made his size constant, because Torgal has a canonical size and thus shouldn't change height based on his proximity to another creature's nethers.
PS: yes, it's stated different sizes of chocos are specifically bred to accomodate Lalas and Roes.

Agreed. It may be funny to some people to see big characters riding on small dogs, but I didn’t get the impression that this was a joke mount. This just feels like an oversight, and I’m hoping it gets patched to have him scale.

Glad I'm playing the boring a$$ midlander

At least this mount doesn't literally break necks like the Regalia does. I'd rather they fix that one first.
I look just like the roes next door... if you happen to live next door to an amusement park.
Ah, the Regalia, that paragon of "one size fits all" mounts.

My Hrothgar alt agrees with this request (of the original post). Don't shrink it down though please, that one Managarm you get for chocobo feathers still looks super out of proportions to me with that small size.
Got the mount with my healer Roegadyn today and... uh.. well.

Any traction on this? Between smol doggos and no eyebrows, I’m a disappointed Highlander lately.
I'd prefer if they didn't personally. I really like how it looks when I ride Torgal on my Femroe characters.
