i dont understand why someone would not come back to the game if they didnt get into legacy...theres a ton of us that stuck through the awfulness of this game and continued to play while all the changes were happening. doesnt really make sense why a person who bought the game and played for a month and quit only to come back about 2 months before 2.0 started to kick in feels obligated to be a legacy member just because they bought it at launch

Yes, maybe since I bought CE at launch, paid $100 for 10.000 crysta at launch and played it till now non stop, could get the legacy platinum. Meaning SE, pays for me to play, since I'm that loyal

    Not a bad idea huh?

I actually have a coworker who is almost willing to break his no pay to play for games policy with this one. he's just waiting for a friend code from me told him i'd give him one when I bought the game.

Jesus, if I'd known there were so many people in the community with a stick up their asses I wouldn't have bothered posting. So many people who think they're better than others just because they stuck around and paid for a broken game and wear it like some sort of badge.

Honestly I don't care about about any of you especially the ones who can't read and didn't see that I had money problems and couldn't pay for a sub at the time even if I wanted to. I'm just as entitled to Legacy as anyone else who purchased on/before release.

I'm sick of people telling me its impossible to get Legacy...its NOT they just wish it was so they can feel special. To the people that have agreed and been nice to me thank you. At least the whole of the community isn't sour.

I hope this thread gets locked soon so people can go argue elsewhere.

Except, that was the whole point of the legacy program- to reward the players who stuck with them during their hardest times. It's the people feeling entitled to a reward when they did nothing to deserve one that have that stick up their behinds. None of us think we're "better than anyone" (you said it, not us)- We think we fufilled the requirements of the program. There's nothing more to it than that.

As others have said, you don't take the steps to meet the requirements, then it's nobody's fault but yours. It's not like there wasn't plenty of time to sign up, pay for the 90 days, and get the legacy status.

Don't sweat it V4NGUARD, you've got to bare in mind the people you're dealing with on the official forums. These are same people who when the alpha build of 14 came out said, "Don't worry guys, it's just the alpha. the game will be better in beta!" Then when the beta came out there were like, "Don't worry guys, it's just the beta. The game will be totally different in one month when the retail build arrives!" Then when the game came out they were like, "Okay the game seems to suck but that's just because there is a HUGE content pack that's about to drop!" Then when that didn't happen every time a patch came out they proceed to tell everyone about how much more awesome the game is now.

Nobody knows if it's too late to get legacy status. You just need 90 days before the beta. Unless the people claiming the alpha is starting on this date (can you even have an alpha build of a finished game?) and the beta is starting on that date have Yoshi P on speed dial it's best to just ignore them. The real question is does legacy status even matter? It'll probably help you get into the beta but aside from that if you aren't enjoying FFXIV now, you probably won't enjoy it much more with a revamped combat system and improved graphics. The $10 bucks a month thing doesn't really matter since the game will probably be free to play a year after it launches like every other MMO that comes out. It's all ready done it once, lol.

I feel like, if it's just a matter of money, you should just be allowed to give them $30 via your account page. It seems like people would be willing to do that.

It is definitely not a matter of money, actually. It's more of a matter of 'have you spent this long playing this game while it sucked'.

These kinds of threads would not be popping up if SE wasn't so generous to allow players who haven't been around to obtain this status.

It should have been for people who have been here; Not for people who said/thought "Sweet if I slip in at the last second I get a lifetime of savings in case the game doesn't suck".

That said; since the above isn't the case: If you missed it- you missed it. Not gonna argue about the rules regarding obtaining status or any of that nonsense. Not gonna listen to reasons why people couldn't play (because it's the internet and people lie.)

Being late is still being late, and being late to something being offered to you (when really it shouldn't be) is just sad.

of course if SE didn't allow all the last second subscribers a chance at the legacy program, they would have thrown an even bigger fit, because they are so entitled to a reward for their loyalty-ohwait.

And before I hear "But I bought the CE and and and!"
    News Flash: We all did.

It's about the people who stuck around. Not those who buggered off only to show up when the grass is looking greener.
