This what I'm trying to tell the people saying "Its impossible now" because its not at all. Ill get billed for my 3rd month at the start of September which is enough time for Legacy UNLESS they take the servers down sooner, which is fair enough.
They won't take the servers down but like I said they could have decided on a cutoff period for legacy post June 30th. This is why some say it's a gamble, since it was mostly a reward for those who played (P2P) since January as a thank you basically.
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
No some say it's a gamble because we don't hate a set date for Beta. Sept/Oct meant Sept.1-Oct.31, so we have no way of knowing.
I understand what you are saying, but thats not the case. If it was they would have clearly stated that on the Legacy page and not "The start of 2.0"
I'm not trying to argue or anything I'm just saying they've advertised different.
"Players Currently Within the 30-Day Free Trial Period
Players who began playing as of May 2012 and have registered for a 90-day period before June 30, 2012 will be able to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign."
"Returning Players
Players who played before January 5, 2012 and wish to resume playing again will need to register for a 90-day subscription before Saturday, June 30, 2012 in order to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign."
I understand you're upset about the situation but there's nothing you can do about it. This is like one of those customer service phone calls from an angry customer and it's like "yeah I'm done with you guys!" but then they proceed to argue for ages instead of just leaving. I don't think Square Enix could have possibly made the campaign more clear. I do agree that the "start of beta" is a bit ambiguous but considering they outright (several times) stated what the cut-off dates were I do not see how it can be argued. They've outright provided the cut-off dates several times.
The Legacy campaign is for players who've stuck around while the game was in a poor state, giving something back to those who those who supported the game. You did not stick around to support the game. You are coming back at the last minute, you were late, and now you are outraged because you missed it, and you are blaming Square Enix. Based on the sound of it you're not even playing the game you're just trying to get the added bonuses. I might argue that the Legacy campaign should only be restricted to those who have both paid and accomplished a decent amount of stuff in the game but that's my opinion, rather than making it look like some sort of portfolio investment.
If you don't want to stick around, you might as well leave. If you are excited about 2.0 like the rest of us, then stay. Don't complain and blame SE because their campaign doesn't revolve around you and when you decide to "check things".
That's a load of crap Rjain.
I know he's coming back at the end of the Legacy offer. If he paid the full $60 in december last year with the intention of playing the game, he's just as entitled to Legacy as any of us. Saying that he didn't stick around to play a broken game makes it his fault is just plain wrong.
I've emailed Square Enix support regarding this issue myself, I came back and reactivated my account with the free month of Crysta and my account won't bill until the 24th of July. I'm not overly worried because I will likely be able to pay for the total 90 days by october 1 so it shouldn't be an issue.
The terminolgy "register" doesn't mean "pay" and I've seen conflicting posts of people claiming to be posting their SE support responses saying all they had to do was select the 90 day option despite the charges not being applied until July.
