These kinds of threads would not be popping up if SE wasn't so generous to allow players who haven't been around to obtain this status. It should have been for people who have been here; Not for people who said/thought "Sweet if I slip in at the last second I get a lifetime of savings in case the game doesn't suck".

I don't think it's entirely true. Making this Legacy announcement it was obvious people would be interested to join now.
So I understand that SE is now being more flexible.
If you hear of a sale, why would you wait for price to get up again?

And yeah, I had the same feedback from SE, you need 3 payment (total 90 days) before 2.0

I think the game need as many players as possible if you ask me

I'm stating that there were people who enjoyed the game immensely since launch.

The LEGACY campaign was designed for peeps that stuck it out and enjoyed the game...not for people who jump in at the last minute and scream entitlements.

EDIT: To clarify, I'm not intending to troll here, I'm just saying...there are a number of things that can be legitimately classified as "an acquired taste" in this game, but the fact that 1.0 has a fundamentally poor and clunky UI (which was, in addition to the utter absence of content at launch, one of the most common and widespread complaints about the game) is not particularly up for debate, IMHO.

There's a difference between "crappy" and "unfinished".

We'll never know what XIV could have been under Tanaka's direction, because he wasn't allowed to actually finish what he was working on.

The game wasn't bad when it started. I have been playing it on and off since the beginning of closed beta (Even over heating my laptop because it was underspected) They had a lot of improvements to make when it first started at official release. Though they're using the terminology "crappy" Most of us obviously have stuck through it. Which means there was some aspect to it that we liked or we had/have hopes of it getting better as so far it has no one will deny that unless they're completely trolling for the sake of it or just hate the game and in that point it's better off if their gone.

I know that this saying is used alot but remember Rome wasn't built in one day. Neither was any country. Nor was any game. I'm going to think of FFXIV as a fine wine... it gets better with age and improvement.

So saying it's crappy doesn't equate to them hating the game in its entirety. They're just stating an opinion on how the felt the game was. Everyone has an opinion and everyone is entitled to an opinion. Just don't let it get to you because if they're still playing then that means they've still got hope and have been enjoying all the fixes that se has done.
