I'm not trying to argue or anything I'm just saying they've advertised different.
"Players Currently Within the 30-Day Free Trial Period
Players who began playing as of May 2012 and have registered for a 90-day period before June 30, 2012 will be able to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign."

"Returning Players
Players who played before January 5, 2012 and wish to resume playing again will need to register for a 90-day subscription before Saturday, June 30, 2012 in order to fulfill the requirements needed to qualify for the Legacy Campaign."

I understand you're upset about the situation but there's nothing you can do about it. This is like one of those customer service phone calls from an angry customer and it's like "yeah I'm done with you guys!" but then they proceed to argue for ages instead of just leaving. I don't think Square Enix could have possibly made the campaign more clear. I do agree that the "start of beta" is a bit ambiguous but considering they outright (several times) stated what the cut-off dates were I do not see how it can be argued. They've outright provided the cut-off dates several times.

The Legacy campaign is for players who've stuck around while the game was in a poor state, giving something back to those who those who supported the game. You did not stick around to support the game. You are coming back at the last minute, you were late, and now you are outraged because you missed it, and you are blaming Square Enix. Based on the sound of it you're not even playing the game you're just trying to get the added bonuses. I might argue that the Legacy campaign should only be restricted to those who have both paid and accomplished a decent amount of stuff in the game but that's my opinion, rather than making it look like some sort of portfolio investment.

If you don't want to stick around, you might as well leave. If you are excited about 2.0 like the rest of us, then stay. Don't complain and blame SE because their campaign doesn't revolve around you and when you decide to "check things".
