Why would you tab target the thing right in front of you instead of using the Target Nearest Enemy keybind which will 100% always target the nearest enemy right in front of you? That's not a problem with the tab targeting system; that's a problem with people not using the right button for the task.
I use Target Nearest Enemy and Target Nearest NPC or Object so often that they are bound to my [G] and [V] keys so my fingers don't have to move very far at all to press them. I also have a secondary Target Nearest Enemy bind on [\] which is in resting position for my other hand. Other people should bind them to keys similarly close to their resting positions because they will use these keys that often once they know they exist to be bound. It would eliminate the vast majority of people's targeting complaints.
