New Job - Trapper (Ranger/Hunter), Discipline of the Land

I know, I know...Ranger/Hunter sounds more like a combat job, but Trapper would be focused on the "beast" items gathering.

And yes, all combat jobs can go out there and kill animals for their pieces of body parts.

But, I think a "Trapper" job (non-combative) job could be fun and the system is already in place if you look at leve quest that use the "pacifier" and trap system AND the Island Sanctuary animal pen idea.

SquareEnix can make all mobs "Trap-able" or just create a few mob spread out that are Non-combative traget-able and Trapper could use nets and whatnot to "gather off those's mob the items using all similar gatherer abilities and skills.

Even better Rare and Legendary gather-mobs could be out there too.

Main-hand could be bolo weapon and secondary could be a net or like fisher leave one handed.

    Two comments about this proposal:
    1. You can already be a trapper on your Island Sanctuary (available once you finish Endwalker) and use nets, bolos, and sleeping drugs to catch various animals. Some people think it's fun.
    2. All the new jobs for Dawntrail are already in there, so any additional new jobs would almost certainly have to wait for the expansion after Dawntrail, at least two years from now.

There was a Disciple of the Land called Shepherd planned over a decade ago (back in the original 1.0 version of the game) that was never implemented, that was believed to be a kind of animal trapper class. Alas, it's clear SE have abandoned it and so I doubt we'll ever see anything else like it.

And we already get animal parts as drops when animals are defeated normally by other classes - yes it's entirelly random but that's the point, it would completely upend the game's economy if there was a class that could extract enemy drops 'to order' basically. So that is another strike against such a class I'm sorry to say.

Actually, there already is a "class" that can "extract enemy drops 'to order'" : combat retainers. 15 per venture, cost 1 venture, takes 40-60 minutes. That's how I get my Berkanan Sap, Ophiotaurus hides, Chimera manes, scales, fleshes, and so on.
Across my alts, I have maybe two dozen such retainers leveled to 90 and geared up for max yield. So in an hour or less I can get over 300 of most monster drops for 24 ventures.

What have you done ??? Think of the economy !!!
What will happens when the people complaining that monster drops or whatever will ruin the game notice ? Chaos ! Dread ! Apocalypse ! Not even the WoL may save the world now XD

I was thinking about this some more and "Trapper" can work exactly like a fisher, in that you can go to "Trapper area/zone" in maps..."Trap" according to range with multiple targets in that given area, HQ others, Rare find others with unlock books..then as a cherry on top desynthesis for meats, bone and fur.

And not to call anyone stupid, but just cause a Retainer can do something doesn't mean the PRIMARY OPTION is you the player doing it faster and more efficiently just like every other job whether its disciple of battle/mage, hand, or craft. I would argue, SE seems found of eliminating drops anyway as they did in most dungeon and mobs...Just do away with it all and leave "drops" for bosses and chests and leave gathering to gatherers.
