    MSQ recap series (working title: Conspectus series)

    Hey, I thought I'd suggest a way for SE to continue to provide a rich and in depth story and also offer players a highway shortcut through the MSQ without losing it's significance.

    Let me introduce the Conspectus series.
    It's basically a condensed main story quest theatre performance with all significant story fights.

    Think Naruto story mode, where you advance through a map of nodes (and side content) and you need to queue up for each node.

    I think this would be a good way for new players to not be disuaded by the sheer amount of MSQ play time needed before reaching endgame.

    This is why (allegedly) Asmongold quit playing FFXIV on and off stream. Because he's interested in endgame.

    People watch streamers because they want to see how streamers react to the important scenes. Streamers would lose viewers if they go straight to endgame.

    Well, in the MSQ recap series of storyboard, the player would still need to play through all of it.

    The idea is this, create a story map with nodes like Mario or Naruto, where the player can skip all the fetch quests in between all the big story events.

    Have a good voice narrate between all the important fights and cutscenes, clump them together so that you can digest just enough per node.

    But then also give the player incentives to do it the old fashion way.

    This would give players the option to fast track to the end without losing the story's significance, without players losing context or investment in the story.

    It would make FFXIV more popular, easier and less daunting for new players.

    A photoshop of your envisaged interface probably isn't going to provide any compelling reason to like the base proposal.
