Hypothetical Question

I've had friendships drift and left friend groups before (for a variety of reasons). I've also left FCs and had people quit the game. It may feel lonely for me at first but even then I'm not entirely alone- seeing other players in various zones does help me out. I also find the community friendly in general so it doesn't bother me.
I'll likely play this game until there is a drastic shift (whether it be interpersonal or something else) that I really don't like, get very burnt out (unlikely- I take regular breaks), or the game goes offline (maybe in 10 years).
I like to stick around for the content- especially the side content. I may catch up to the story but the side content will always be there! :3
Especially the fishing log- I have yet to get above 50% of the total fish logged.

I would drop this game like a hot rock if my static quit. While I believe I have the skill level and patience to PuG savage by myself, I don't have the desire to. I enjoy playing with my static. The rest of the game doesn't have enough of what I enjoy in other video games and genres I play to keep me around. I'm not even sure if I would resub once an expansion. At this point I do content in FFXIV outside of raiding, because I'm already here to raid and I may as well get my monies worth.
