Eight hours and counting... still no codes, lol.

I shouldn't be surprised, but... yeah well.

I should just cancel my first order, make a new order and get my codes, it would probably be faster.

In the notes for it, it states: This code will only work on European Square Enix accounts.

And no, I am not on EU.

I been waiting for 4 hours and still no codes for digital collector's edition pc copy. Still says AWAITING FULFILLMENT and hasn't changed. Also shows my card already been charged for it. I'm wondering if they ran out of codes and waiting on more to be made up. Says when you do get the code it be emailed to you.

I just bought Dawntrail on Steam, that was no problems paying and getting the end of the deal and everything.

But when will I get the keys and the likes that I should need to punch in for the pre-order/digital Collection order?!?

I mean it is branded with you will get them instantly, but I assume that there is a delay due congestion after purchase, but some kind of information on it would be appreciated for sure and with all respect towards the customer.

Restart steam if you do not see it. It took 2 hours for mine to appear.
You have to go to your steam library -> right-click on ffxiv -> manage -> CD keys (look for the one that says pre-order dawntrail) copy it & go to mogstation website and paste code under the redeem code part

I bought the digital CE on Steam around 1am eastern time after I was done raiding for the night and the pre-order key was listed in my CD keys area immediately. So at least for Steam they seem to have things worked out.

When I saw the words "Instant delivery" with the two items on Lodestone,
I actually understood "Instant delivery" as "You will get the items immediately from the Post Moogle after entering the Pre-Order Bonus Code for Early Access"
and not "You will get your Pre-Order Bonus code immediately after your order"

Did some googling since people are leaning towards the false advertising/illegal route.

In business, there is something known as the 30-Day Rule when it comes to online selling. By law, you must have a reasonable basis for stating that a product can be shipped within a certain time. If your advertising doesn't clearly and prominently state the shipment period, you must have a reasonable basis for believing that you can ship within 30 days.

If you can't ship within the promised time (or within 30 days if you made no promise), you must notify the customer of the delay, provide a revised shipment date and explain his right to cancel and get a full and prompt refund.

I don't believe that saying "instantly" is giving an exact definition of time in the way this law works or making a "promise", therefore putting Square into the 30 days. They've also wrote on multiple platforms that they're looking into Steam issues which would also cover them along with providing a way for people to contact them after 48 hours.

This is the same game where it took people 1-2 days to get Fantasia when Endwalker launched. Like others have said, this isn't anything new. I think people being upset that they didn't get it that second is frustrating but from what I can see, Square actually has 30 days to supply the items before we can legally start going after them (according to the FTC).

Side note: For false advertising you'd have to prove that Square intentionally lied to people to promote sales, not just that the wording on the ad is wrong since that can be considered accidental if there's no malicious intent.

Just got my EU code after checking out as a guest in SE store. Took 11 hours.

Ended up using the guest checkout because I couldn't login at all. I suppose I'll lose the membership points since my SE store account is tied to a different email I no longer have access to, but I probably won't have enough points to get rewards anyway if I'm only buying an expansion every 2 years.
