    2.0 UI Information please?

Hello, im one of the few that's really looking forward to the new 2.0 UI and the rumors that we can modify it with possible future user-addons.
(im mostly interested in the graphical aspects & certain helpful addons)

I was hoping for some news / information regarding this since it wouldnt directly spoil the 2.0 expectations from anyone i think.

I know absolutly nothing about coding or making gadgets / addons so i might be
asking abit strange questions lol, sorry in advance.

So here is a few questions i have regarding the 2.0 UI.

    ● Will players with graphical skills of their own be able to modify "current" / "future" looks of the 2.0 UI parts? (such as actionbar layout, mini options menu, map gadget etc)
Lets say i want to add or modify the minimap layout-frame to something
that might looks like a compass, would that be possible?

    ● How are you planning to make addons work exactly with 2.0 ?
(i mean how will they be implemented to game by the user?)

    ● Does the user-made addons have to be approved and tested by the dev team?
(im supporting the testing and approval by the way)

    ● I read not long ago, that the addons would be "Flash" based, is this true?
If so, will you be releasing some sort of "Flash" based addon creation tool for us?
(this could have been a rumor at the time thou, things can change over time)

Overall UI feedback / Suggestions. (from another game)
I played "World of Warcraft" for a few years myself and found that mods
that let me change the UI's looks and placement really enchanced
my gameplay experience alot more than i expected.

One of the main things that improved it alot was the overall onscreen action that wasnt hiding behind huge information boxes with health-bars and action buttons.

Meaning i could have a clean view of the action with minimal action buttons down at the bottom, and the same for inventory bags & overall information on a bottom or top-bar that showed location (position), my Gold, local time, guild members online etc.

All that information on a really small bar either up top or below.
I found that was one of the best addons ever. (titan panel i think it was called)
I recommend implementing such feature in the new UI, or atleast an option for players
who wants to create their own user-made addon.

Making it possible to show whatever information such as Gil, exp, company currency, position numbers (+ area name), server messages, dungeon timers, inventory spaces free/used and more would be a good option to add as optional for the addons.

(the backround bar i would like to design myself, and being able to change its opacity / transparancy)

Any other information regarding user-made addons would be
really cool and some interesting reading.

So if any UI staff wants to share some ideas and information please do! ^-^

Why?, because im getting really vivid pictures and ideas of cool addons and UI designs in my head.
but i dont have much refrence information to go on.
I have so many questions and ideas popping up right now lol

a really, Really exited UI interested player!

Yea I hope they allow us to have unlimited control over the UI and graphical aspect of the UI.

I would also like to see more in depth functionality with the marketwards and boss encounters.

    Examples being:-

Able to pull and download the price history of items on the marketwards/AH and save to a text file, this would allow players to display average prices and sale history for selected items.

Able to add large text to the center of the screen when bosses perform moves, this can be easily read from the battle log, such as when Coincounter uses 100 ton swing, the addon could read the battle log and display the text on screen so players are aware of the move.

I agree with titan panal being very useful I think I used something else but did the same thing.

I personally plan to port all my favorite addons from world of warcraft so I really hope they make an extensive and well documented api for addon creators.

For the tested and approved part of yours... It would defeat the entire point of user addons for them. It would require them to allocate ressource to what is the best possible way from a dev point of view to let users deal with he user interface.

I really hope they'll allow addons during beta so we can ask for addition to api when the game is still in development phase.

    THIS !

Also a dedicated sub-forum for addons and addon talk would be very useful.

Yoshi-p should really try and promote this aspect of the game.
