I am trying to renew my subscription but for a day and a half it has been setting in my band as "pending" with only $1.00 held. I have never had this problem before so I have no idea what is going on, any help is greatly appericated.

The $1.00 is a test to check if your card is legit. You're gonna get that money back (or rather, the money never leave your card, it's just reserved until the payment is validated or in this case, cancelled), it's usually pretty fast, but when I resubbed this month after a break, it took them 2 weeks (I don't really know if it's on the bank or SE).
But that test doesn't mean your sub has been done, after the $1 sub, you're supposed to have a second confirmation, that validate the payment of the sub, that you probably cancelled thinking everything was done. You'll probably have to begin anew from start, and they will re-ask you a $1 test transaction, but this time don't leave before the end.
The test transaction is not needed when it's a automatic renewal, only when you suspended your sub.

Never cancelled the hold because I understood what it was for the problem is that I have never had it take so long for them to approve the sub on the SE side.
Today of all days is a bad day for anything SE commerce related. Everyone and their kids are all ordering the expansion so everything related to their services are essentially getting DDoSed unwillingly by the attackers (us).
