It was never possible. He goes into sword phase immediately upon his HP reaching 70% or lower.I found a group that actually wanted to do the StB Extremes unsync'd and I hopped on that so fast. We got one mount.
Actually, I think this is why the Moogle Treasure Troves rotate old EX mounts. I would not have the Susano mount if not for that since it's *actually* impossible to solo now. There was a very, VERY brief window Pictomancer could burst Susano down fast enough that the sword phase never happened. I don't think it's possible anymore since the PCT changes that put more of it's damage on the color spells. RathGames has a whole video about it during his Solo Only challenge.
I just really want the Gwibers, but same problem.

Nah, mad lad actually did it:

(Actual going for the kill Starts around 1:02:00 ish)
No. 10char
I also vaguely remember being able to solo him on Dark Knight by dropping Salted Earth under the sword and popping Living Shadow before starting the minigame. But that was either a fever dream or they patched it a while ago, because I tried that again in DT and it did absolutely nothing.
The issue is not accommodating solo players.
The issue is the game accommodates for people that only play for 1-2 hours a week.

Yeah, should rather accommodate the 0.1% of players who have 7 other people at their disposal they can get along & perfectly align their schedule with. 10/10
Do you realize that there's a reason why the participation in non-trivial group (i.e. you can actually fail indefinitely) content is at or below 10% of all players?

Isn't every player a solo player? Account sharing is against ToS. This thread makes no sense
I think having a solo aspect to MMORPGs is important, but shouldn't overshadow the multiplayer aspect to it.
It's good to just log and do activities alone to relax one day, and then fully indulge in organized PF high end duties on the other. However, about the multiplayer aspect, there's something quite funny about XIV's encounters. While you usually do those in a multiplayer scope, there are very little interactions needed.
Let's say the 2min meta, which some people die by the hill that it's important because it promotes "group play". When it was the last time you were in a group that coordinated the 2min burst in a different way? The structure of most of the content itself just encourages you to do your opener and just press everything on cooldown afterwards, as the burst windows will naturally align. There's no actual planning needed salvo for very specific and uncommon situations.
I agree, there should be a balance. Being able to play with my friends at any time, is my deepest motivation to playing this game. It's nice that the game gives me enough space to do so solo, for when I want to practice my individual skills. Of course can't do that with raiding and such. Although, I am very discouraged from wanting to do raids, everyone seems to say they are fun, but then I hear so many stories of drama, and friends all wanting to stop raiding, it brings the worst out of people. At most I would rather do dungeons, and some trials with others. This game has a long journey and it would be lame to do all of that solo, but it is nice to have the option to at times.
