Once you have visited the Waking Sands, you will be forcibly teleported back to it at random intervals, including from within instanced duties, unless the duty is required for your current MSQ quest.Two ideas:
1. After you are inducted into the Scions, if you are outside where you need to be for your MSQ, you will receive periodic linkpearl calls every ~15 minutes prompting you to complete your current story quest. The character that contacts you will be different depending on what part of the story you're on (e.g. Minfilia, Alphinaud, Tataru).
2. Similar to the above, but with a personal assistant mammet that reminds you to do daily/weekly content and challenges. All of it.
ALL the alley raid gear needs to be augmented again. And having the NPC augment the gear has a 50/50 percent of failure, breaking the gear.
In order to progress leveling Samurai beyond lv90 in Dawntrail? they must solemnly swear to wish " Hissatsu: Kaiten " back! With a side quest where upon finishing it? Square created a dramatic in-game cutscene... of our WoL... Putting up a Kaiten Icon poster in Kugane as we shed a singular DPS tear above a bonsai tree that sits peacefully underneath the poster to wish for its return

All Iaijutsu have their potency numbers reduced by 50%. Hissatsu: Kaiten is implemented as a level 100 trait that raises the potency of Iaijutsu by 50%.
All Jobs have added stamina bar, doing anything at all depletes it with big actions vastly more. When you reach 0 stamina you are greatly slowed down and weakened until you take a short break to start recovering it.
All new jobs start at level 1. Grind those levels, slackers!
A quest which needs a skill that doesn't exist anymore.
