    Improving The FFXIV experience

    Hello!!
In light of the recent release of the Xbox version, I would like to offer some suggestions aimed at enhancing the overall quality of the game experience. These recommendations are intended to improve the overall satisfaction of players.

Improving The FFXIV experience: Updating Privacy Protocols, and Universal Party Finder

Considering the recent unveiling of cross-region Data Center Travel functionality within FFXIV, it is imperative to address several pivotal areas necessitating enhancement to optimize its future implementation.

    Elevating Privacy Protocols

In response to reported instances of in-game harassment, it is evident that existing privacy measures, notably the block feature, are insufficient in mitigating such incidents. Notably, individuals possess the capability to access sensitive user information via platforms like The Lodestone, thereby warranting urgent action. As it stands, certain personal details, including Data Center, Server name, and housing information, remain publicly accessible. It is imperative to empower users with the ability to toggle the visibility of such information, thus safeguarding their privacy and fostering a more secure gaming environment.

    Enhancing Friend List Security

The current functionality of the friend list feature in FFXIV presents a potential safety concern, particularly regarding individuals who have been blocked by users. Despite being blocked, individuals on the friend list can still view the status of the user who has blocked them. This oversight poses a risk to user safety and privacy.

To address this issue promptly and ensure the safety of our users, it is imperative to implement immediate improvements to the friend list feature. Specifically, adjustments should be made to prevent individuals who have been blocked from accessing any information or updates from the user who has blocked them, including status updates.

By enhancing the security and privacy protocols within the friend list feature, should help aim to prioritize the safety and well-being of all users within the FFXIV community.

    Revolutionizing Party Finder Accessibility

With the recent announcement and possible introduction of data center travel in FFXIV, It can result in a noticeable disparity in Party Finder activity across servers. While some servers experience a decline, others face an overwhelming surge, exacerbating the challenges faced by players seeking suitable party listings. Servers like Dynamis for example, are particularly impacted, with players struggling to find viable party options within their own server.

To address this pressing issue and enhance user experience, I propose the implementation of a Universal Party Finder. This innovative solution would transcend regional boundaries, allowing players from different data centers to participate seamlessly. By fostering a unified platform, regardless of region, players can enjoy enhanced accessibility to party listings, mitigating server-specific challenges and promoting a more inclusive gaming environment.

Additionally, the implementation of a Universal PartyFinder, it could alleviate the strain caused by cultural differences, fostering a more harmonious and inclusive environment for all players.

I firmly believe that prioritizing the optimization of the game through these enhancements is paramount. The sooner these adjustments are made, the greater the benefits for the game's longevity and player satisfaction. By investing in these improvements now, the game can ultimately continue to ensure its continued success in the market.

I'm sure the technical hurdles that need leaping in order to implement all of this are immense, but it's all so necessary for the safety of the players. I hope someone relevant takes a look at this and witnesses what people have been asking for for a long time now.

I definitely support this! I'd extend the universal Party Finder to include the regular Duty Finder if it's at all possible, but I know there must be a lot of technical issues that need to be overcome.

I think it's impossible without doubling the dev team. The size of the current dev team is just incapable of creating contents that can last until the next patch/expansion.

The Friends list needs a definite overhaul. That people can have a falling out, or realize a person they friended is harmful, but removing them from Friends does nothing; you're still on that other person's Friend list! They can still see and track you through it! That is a serious harassment and safety concern.

Being able to toggle what information is shown on the Lodestone, so far as public views of Housing, GC, etc, would also be nice. it's great for me to find things about myself when I can't log in; I may not want others to find me so easily, or track my movements in game with ill intent.

I know Yoshida has said before they want people to be social in the MMO, but one of the best ways to facilitate good socialization is to give players blocking and privacy tools to keep themselves safe. Most other games, platforms, and sites know this and implement those features for that reason.

While a universal PF sounds like a good idea on paper, I can't help but wonder how many people would actually make use of it. There would end up being strategy differences, language barriers and ping issues to consider when playing across regions.

On the other hand, I do support regional PF so that people from Crystal/Primal/Dynamis can play with Aether without flooding their servers.

Which is an impossibility for cross-region play.
