I'm not sure if there has been a thread made on this yet, but I don't think they ever made an announcement on when they'd release the benchmark right? Does anyone have any predictions as to when you think they might release it? I was around for the Endwalker one but honestly don't really remember much of the timeframe now between release of the benchmark and release of EW

It isn't so much of a guess as a hope. But I'd be really happy if it dropped after PAX east or the 14-hour broadcast in April.

I assumed that too, but I think that for benchmarks it just shows like the cinematic opening to show you how well your pc can run the game and then has the character creator thing there, so they might only need to finish working on the character updated graphics to release the benchmark. But then again I'm not sure

They usually have done a lot of things far in advance of release, so that they can have over 100 people thoroughly test it over months and identify bugs.

The graphics update for characters will obviously be done when Dawntrail releases, but it won't be done for all the areas or for all the NPCs necessarily. That is going to happen throughout the 7.x patches.

Given that they've not really given a benchmark I'd say not enough to be significant.
They wouldn't make the mistake they did of 1.0 of bumping up the graphics if it was gonna cause the game to be unplayable for such a large player base.

We don't have a benchmark to use yet but they did give upgraded system requirements. Not huge upgrades so I don't think anyone needs to worry about 1.0 levels of inaccessibility.

It's potentially optimistic of me, given the graphics update is involved, but their previous pattern for all the past expansions puts the benchmark as releasing within two weeks (before or after) the last normal patch (hotfixes not included) - and it tends to be released on the same day as or shortly after a Live Letter or something similar. Given that today was likely that last patch (unless they plan to give us a 6.59, which would be unexpected), my hopeful estimate is that we're getting it this weekend with the PAX panel.

I just logged in to the forums to enquire exactly this.

As Yoshida has said we may need to upgrade our PCs ahead of the new expansion I would have expected a benchmark by now to get a better understanding how how this will affect my current PC.
