Login bug after latest patch

I have the same bug, I know the workaround has been posted, but I will also post it here because I'd prefer an official fix from SQE, and hopefully this will get their attention(lol).

Exactly the same issue that everyone is having in the thread, currently using Arch Linux/KDE, come on SQE.

Oh my goodness, first post here just to express sigh of relief it isn't just me.

On Steam deck as well, thought it was my install. Deleted the game, changed my launch commands, reinstalled, all for nothing

Thanks to those that posted the workaround, will attempt when I get home from work.

Hi,

Since the latest patch I have been unable to log in via the launcher (official Windows launcher launched via WINE).
When trying to log in I get the following message:
"This service account does not have a valid FINAL FANTASY XIV license for this platform or your subscription has expired."

However I am trying to launch via the same platform that I have played on previously, and my subscription is still ongoing.

There's been several Reddit posts by people running into the same issue on Steam Deck and other desktop Linux distros so it looks like the latest patch has prevented most/all Linux users from being able to log in.

Im having basically the same issue but only difference is that i haven't been able to log in with the 6d error since the 15th. i was hoping the patch today(march 19th) was gonna fix it. i have about 11 days left on my sub and havent been able to play for the last 4 of said 11 days. i really hope this gets fixed soon. tech support directed me here to the forums.

Steam deck user here as well. I made the mistake of uninstalling the launcher then reinstalling it to no avail. Now it thinks my steam deck is a mac lol. RIP my hot bars though.

made an account just to say im having the same issue on my steam deck. the fix provided on reddit doesn't work for me and I've tried on multiple versions of proton-GE

I’m tempted to buy the EW expansion for Mac so I don’t have to mess with fixes. Lord knows I paid enough for all the versions already

Basically the response I got from customer service when I made a ticket for the issue with steam deck log in.

So... It sounds like they don't even care. Sorry steam deck users. Go buy a PC I guess, or buy the game AGAIN.
