Q-Synching Event, Thu Apr 4th, 4pm PDT

Quick heads-up to those of you still playing Frontlines on Aether that the mode will be borderline unplayable at the above time. An "event" is scheduled in which light parties of WAR-only will Q-synch into matches.

If you would like to meet the individuals responsible, they will gather at the Adamanantoise Wolves' Den beforehand. Suggest DC traveling if you wish to participate in regular matches.

Edit to address Sinstrel's point in the post directly beneath this: While it's true that responsible Q-synchers use the language switch to avoid annoying people doing roulette, no such stipulation is given in the invitation for this particular one, nor has it been this group's practice in the past. The good news is this will likely remove some premades from other NA DCs for the duration of the event.

Before any misinformation spreads - these que-sync'ed events usually instruct all participants to set their duty finder language to something other than English before they sync'ed que. This causes all participants to be matched into their own Frontline as the duty finder will not match you into a group that isn't your language. So Frontline roulette will be unaffected for the majority of players.

This particular group does not J-synch on Aether, hence the reason I provided the PSA. At least in prior events, they have dumped their light parties all in regular, E-queue FL matches. I assume this is because it's far funnier for them if others are inconvenienced. If I'm wrong it would be great if one of the organizers could let us all know in this thread.

I know from personal they don't do it in some malicious way its more of use the other lang settings to setup a solo lobby but if you dont have 72 ppl it wont fill. So smaller Qsyncs groups tend to just do 3 games normal lobby IE E lang settings(for those arguing about setting 100% matters for FL)in this case its only 3 games its a nice little event they do giveaways and its always glamour/job themed(its a dif job everyweek), its not some evil that needs to be banished. 3 games a week or every other week, i think thats totally fair if ppl wanna group and do community things like this. i get it sucks when you get put on the team with less ppl grouped but its not all day. Sometimes ppl will stay after the 3 games and form pts to keep playing but these Qsyncs on the regular only go for about 3 games.

It may not be malicious; it simply shows a complete disregard for the playing experience of others. And I'm not trying to banish it, I'm providing information so that people can avoid it if they wish (or participate). The scholar event angered a lot of regulars. FL doesn't need any outside help to generate salt.

It does in FL. If it's different in CC I guess that's because chat is disabled.

As far as i am aware, language barriers for queues have been removed years ago because people of certain languages did not get any invites anymore and also to prevent people from teaming up through picking specific languages. It was not discussed in a big manner but i am 95% sure language doesnt affect queues anymore.

Hmmm. Pretty sure I've seen fairly recent FL videos of people language swapping so as to Q-synch while not to be disruptive to others.

I guess the solution here is customizable FL queues. I think community-driven events are great, just not when a sub-community inconveniences the entire community.

Despite being personally bad in those events those are usually fun to do. I just prefer it not being sync within the regular queue. Don't feel like seeing the casuals scream why strategy is not important at all.
