Constant Crashing (Unexpected Error has Occurred)

Hi There!

My game will crash multiple times a day with the following entry:

An unexpected error has occurred. EXITING FINAL FANTASY XIV.

This happens very irregularly, sometimes being a few minutes after startup or after a couple of hours. I am unsure of how to solve this and have referred to previous forum posts with the same issue to try to resolve, however, the crashes still happen. Here are the steps I have already taken to try and resolve:

- Updated Graphics and Sound drivers
- Updated Bios
- Repair Game Files via launcher
- Lowered in game settings
- Changed from Borderless to both Fullscreen and Windowed
- Reinstalled the game

I am unsure of what else I can try, and would appreciate any support provided!

Maybe you are affected by this:

And this is the possible fix:
A reportedly successful workaround for many people is to use Intel XTU and lower the Performance Core multiplier from x55 to x54 or x53. If you use Intel XTU then the new settings will be set immediately without a reboot. But they do not persist reboots. It is optimal for testing.

After a couple of days of testing 53x seems to have resolved this issue. No crashes so far. Thanks a lot for the help!

I am glad, that it helped. You can also set this multiplier in the motherboard BIOS. So you do not need to use XTU after every reboot.
