    As the person above said, they don't actually own any houses to begin with. They're just out to scam people out of money and use photos of other people's homes for "proof" that they have them.

    Anyone in legitimate servers related to housing purchases aren't involved in that and scammers/RMT related sellers are insta-banned from them as well. Those in the know do try to spread the word when they can to prevent people from falling victim to them. Anyone who actually wants to sell a house for real will only be accepting gil, not cash and also won't be advertising for it on the party finder lol.

    Can't see 30-day timers on any marketboard transaction last time I checked. A big issue was leaders of any freecompany imaginable quitting or taking a break and losing their said leadership granting a rng member said privileges. You guessed it there, in the majority of those cases said freecompany was sold quickly after, which at that point is beyond the capabilities of intervention by any GM. Other big factor as LianaThorne described is the immediate sale of a newly obtained plot of land.

    But yeah you go ahead and drop the RMT bomb in anything related to housing to new players so they get discouraged to get something through legitimate means.

    1 - Marketboard RMT isn't the same thing as housing RMT.

    2 - The current system, in addition to the change for FC leadership, has been effective in reducing the amount of RMT present in housing because it is such a hassle. It's a fraction of what it was prior to the lottery.

    Why would any one get discouraged by that?

    If you don't think it's a step in the process of discouraging housing RMT, then just what do you think the purpose of it is? It's clearly not to discourage multiple-house ownership. That's been booming since the lottery was added.
