I would like to see personal AFK timers added

It's something that's in game when heavy congestion to let others to log into the game, but I'd like to be able to auto log out myself at some points. Usually due to being caught up in stuff IRL randomly when I only planned to go afk for only a few minutes.

Sure we have the AFK sign thing to let people know we're not there, but sometimes I'll join a party for fates or other things, so I'd like to be able to set a timer to boot myself, or at least have an option for it.

Please show support for chocobo boots to be added -> http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/323512-Suggestion-for-an-item-to-be-added-to-gold-saucer-Chocobo-Boots

Unhappy with how they implemented Mahjong? -> http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/381358-Mahjong-is-the-most-depressing-mini-game-you-ve-added-to-XIV

    That option already exists?
Edit - nope I'm conflating this game's options with XI's. You're right, there's an idle timeout but nothing to disconnect from the server.

They'll put it back in when 7.0 comes out. I think its something like 15-30 minutes.

    You could write two macros:

    /afk on
    /wait 60
    /wait 60
    /wait 60
    /wait 60
    /wait 60
    /wait 60
    /wait 60
    /wait 60
    /wait 60
    /wait 60
    /wait 60
    /echo Logout in 60 seconds <se.1> <wait.50>
    /echo Logout in 10 seconds <se.1> <wait.10>
    /logout

    And to deactivate it:

    /afk off

You need to start another macro to turn off the first one or it will log you out even if you are playing again (only one macro can run at a time). I added some warnings with the /echo command as a reminder. The timer is set for 12 minutes. It says 60 seconds is the max for the /wait command, so you could increase it to 15 minutes if you want to.

But keep in mind that when you get logged out from the game the music from the opening video will blast through our speakers.

It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.

No need, the period where we hit really high congestion are few and far between to warrant a consistent or permanent AFK timer. If you want something for yourself then just create yourself a macro.
