I'd take Yoshi-P comments with a grain of salt when it comes to difficulty. Didn't he call the newest alliance the hardest and it ended up being the easiest as well as saying that TOP would be easier than DSR?

I absolutely would not object to official DPS meters though. Game's been long overdue for 'em imo. Not for the baby content like normals or dungeons since those are still gonna more than likely easy enough to sleepwalk through, but for extremes and above it'd be a blessing.

We don't need DPS meters but I wouldn't say no to having some.
Personal DPS meters I can get behind.

Its meaningless, damage output in extremes is often decided by how good you can follow the mechanics and your general positioning. If those 2 things are done well, the damage rotation is often going to be automatic. You cannot test team coordination in a raw dps test.

Note that even in the current unreal you can skip a mechanic entirely. And thats forced minimum ilvl, ilvl creep makes nearly all extremes well doable.

And such damage only matters in content that has enrage. Slow dps in a dungeon while it can be anoying, if you dont wipe, where is the problem?

DPS meters is one thing I'm gonna despise until end of my days, too many times have I been kicked from groups in Aion because my dps or heals didn't meet their "criteria" for proper run.

DPS meters have never been neccessary to clear content, otherwise people wouldn't be doing it on console. It's really not that difficult to tell who is playing well.

Well, in the majority of Aion's content your DPS wouldn't have to be on-point. In the content that required the best DPS for the class then I would agree that people could get kicked, and it would be necessary to beat that content. No idea about your specific case, however in some cases those same people were later able to pass the same check, either by improving their gear and/or rotation. However, we weren't rude about it - we were factual, and we knew what was necessary and possible to do.

You, maybe. However, the moment a community starts using DPS meters, it creates a toxic environment where people are flamed for not doing optimal DPS in any kind of content. It has happened in every MMO I've ever played.

No doubt. Perception is everything. Humans interpret things one way while others interpret it a different way and that's usually a big factor. Nevertheless, it had such a knock-on effect that everyone I met who had played the game had bad things to say about players attitudes, virtually without exception.

I would just like it as an option people have to clear before joining your PF.

Yup! As someone else said, they're in sales mode. They have to tell you this stuff so you'll buy Dawntrail. It's no different than when Todd Howard was talking about how Fallout 76 would have all these crazy features in it, except people actually trust Yoshi because his ratio of truth to lies is much better than your typical lead dev. However, he does regularly "embellish the truth" because he needs DT to sell so Square can use that money to make other games that "fail to meet sales expectations" because they're trapped on a console that loads of people haven't purchased.
