Context: I've played many MMORPGs, but not WoW. But in every MMORPG, I met players who had come from WoW and every single one of them told me it was extremely toxic and they quit because of it. This is something people told me consistently going back over the last 20 years. The perceived toxicity has always driven people away from that game.

I ve had crap dps in wow. And in every dungeon run i did nobody attacked me. The most common comment was that their is something wrong in your rotation.
Maybe it just changed recently, because this is what I have been told consistently by people who tried the game. It's been meme'd about on youtube by all the people who came from WoW to this game as well.

I was a fail dps. And meters helped me improve my game.
In this game, you can improve your game simply by looking up how to do a rotation, how gearing works and optimal settings and keybinds, or by watching a PoV video of your job clearing a fight so you can see how they perform a rotation while doing it, and compare it to yourself.

As someone who plays WoW currently and has over the years since I was 9 yeah no one cares unless you're in higher difficulty content, and a lot of the situations are rarely as one sided as people like to make them out to be. a lot of the Toxicness in WoW is more played up then it actually is, and a lot of people fall for it. People also have a bad habit of joining guilds and groups that are very upfront about using a meter and parsing high as a requirement and then when people can't keep up they feel slighted, and that happens more then a lot of these people are willing to admit. XIV is equally as toxic, it's just socially, not gameplay wise, tho it does happen here as well.

But all that being said we don't need them for any changes made. For example if we're going back to stormblood tiers of difficulty, people will just have to adjust and adapt. And if people need them that bad well, no one can say anything if people use them and keep it to themselves.

As per usual, it's a tool, and tools only provide info, they are harmless, it's the info and how it's used thats the issue.

Isn't ACT enough? Everyone and their raider grandma uses it. It even parses people that don't consent to it.

There's a reason it's not in the game - it's not necessary. I cannot think of any single duty with such a strict DPS requirement that it is necessary to look at the minute details.
