Nah I think he's meaning those red bouncing balls that you can fight in northern crater on the way to beat sephiroth in ffvii. They're one of the best mobs to either lvl your material or level off of

I know those mobs. I just asked if he knew any real life equivalent of those to decide what strength they should have.

Wow! It's one of those fabled threads in which people try to turn FFXIV into FFXI!

    We'll take it into consideration.

This game was supposedly built to be the next FFXI. In my eyes it is. FFXI laid the foundation (blueprint) for what FFXIV could be but with a different story, playable content, graphics, etc. FFXIV is the successor to FFXI. At least that's what I've "heard."

    No it wasn't.

    Must be blind.

That's what expansions and graphical updates are for. Not new games.

    It isn't, you've heard wrong.

    Hmm
You mean the same way FF VIII based on FF VII? Sure, another world, another story, another game mechanics. But both are in 3D and have the same races.

Actually from the very beginning they said they wanted this game to be a standalone project and have both FFXI running and FFXIV and neither take the place of the other. Also they encouraged players to not just play one or the other but to play both if you still enjoyed FFXI. Part of the reason the game was made to be more casual friendly (casual friendly doesn't mean I am calling it a casual game) because FFXI was the more hardcore of the two. Though that is the case to the extreme because the lack of content as well.

Perhaps 2.0 will be the cure for that problem
