When it's through official channels then they're more committed to it.

    Take Viera and Hrothgar hats.

We had fanfests and all sorts of other places where he could have mentioned that they were coming. But what does Yoshida do? He gives a non-committal "we're working on it. please be patient" answer when he logs into a JPN server on New Years and answers a few questions. Now everyone thinks it going to happen with 7.0

But that's hardly an official statement. They're not committed to anything, and no one will be surprised when it doesn't happen in 7.0.

I think that is also why he is so hesitant to talk a lot about anything before it is close enough to being done that it will definately be implemented.

I just really hope when he says that there will be multiple avenues for making the DT ones, that it doesn't mean just more fate grinding again. It likely not only is, but also it will likely be the most effiencient way to do it yet again, but man would I love fates to just not be a part of it in any way for once. I would much rather run the old dungeons that never seem to pop in roulettes anymore or make use of coil or something. Utilize the things or use the dungeons we don't normally get to do anymore.
I would be cool with older content if it scaled to max lvl properly

You know, I think you nailed it, and I hate that this is the most likely case.

Mr.Happy Covered an Update in a Magazine about relics and our feed back.

And it sounds neat, can't wait to see what we have in store. HOWEVER, why wasn't this pushed through official sources like the Twitter or Launcher or Lodestone?
We get official sources with live letters, lodestone updates, lodestone blog posts and they send out emails as well. The information may already have been answered or hinted at in an interview prior to it, but it is just because he tries to allow any questions to be asked and to not constrain himself on what he can answer. Although sometimes he has to be honest and say they haven't decided yet, or that it's being saved for a major reveal ie. a fanfest keynote.

This. It's much easier to be non-committal or to even walk back previous statements that were made through unofficial channels.

The Legends of the Titanmen lives on, a shining example of the power of compassion and the ability of people to make a difference in the world. A reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope, as long as there are heroes like the Titanmen who dare to do good deeds in Eorzea.

To "increase variations" could mean anything from "new hats" to "adding variations to old models" I suppose and is exactly the vague wishy-washy response I've come to dislike.

Pretty much the only pieces of actual information I can glean from the article are relics are not going to be exactly the same implementation and the Island Sanctuary will "get updates based on player feedback", which again could mean anything from tweaking exp thresholds to actual new features.

There's no info in there to spread so I can see why they haven't made a lodestone announcement about it or anything, it's just the same information that is already on the DT page rehashed as an interview with some vague marketing speech thrown in there that tells us nothing substantial.
Ugh, if we go by the "variations" they added so far, which are some hats being reduced to the size of a Lalafell wear, it's questionable.

And if he's gonna ask us to use the forums for feed back, we need to know all of these things, we can then aid in being more confident and concise in what we say and it can lead to a better products, especially since this interview screamed *this is me saying and showing I read the official forums*.
I see this as a failure on the part of the Community team. They are the ones that should be keeping the community up to date with game information being released by the developers outside of the Lodestone. It shouldn't be that difficult to have a weekly blog saying "YoshiP just did another series of interviews with gaming publications. Here are links to the published interview articles".

Sometimes it feels like the Community team has been tasked to interact with everyone except the player community. Don't call it a Community team if it's really a general marketing and publicity team.

I also wouldn't take it as a sign that YoshiP reads the Official forums. This isn't the only place where players leave feedback and talk about the game. He's already mentioned how he gets a lot of his information about player feedback (especially from NA and EU) from content creators like MrHappy.

Every time they give a seemingly definite answer and then plans change, people throw it back in their faces forever.

I would LOVE a blog just detailing his JP interviews, and iirc the NA community managers are helping with events and translation for events at times, I know we have a new forum mod, but I never see or hear much from the NA community, and comparing them to the EU team who streams, it's kinda sad given i'd love an NA stream for us to talk about the game and push feed back through.

And honestly, I think Mr.Happy is the only affiliate we have left that actually does provide active feed back.

There is a NA stream with the Community team - Duty Commenced. Think they get done every 4-6 weeks.

There are other content creators that offer feedback but MrHappy is better at identifying when something is his personal opinion (and when it's not representative of the general community) and when it's an opinion found in community feedback he's seen and read.

The big problem will always be the feedback from the silent majority. All SE can do is infer how the majority feels through what they choose to do in game and when they start/stop playing because those players aren't letting SE know what they actually feel.

Back to the topic of information released in interviews, if they're concerned about "maybes" in interviews being taken as gospel by players reading those interviews then those things shouldn't be included in interviews. As far as the interviewer is concerned, YoshiP or other developer is an official source and they're providing information they want shared.

If what is being shared is something under consideration but not finalized for implementation, then the Community team should be posting a blog to stress that the information is not a guarantee of what is to come because the interviewer may not make that point in their article. If an article gets published with misstatements, SE needs to be active in getting those misstatements corrected.
