As someone relatively new to Hunts, I appreciate this insight.
It seems the list of things that need to be fixed & or reworked is ever expanding.

It doesn't need fixing.
It needs replacing.
Assuming the Rank spawns right next to you. I spawned Chernobog yesterday and almost didn't make it in time to get a hit in.
Perhaps then they should change it so that only Marks killed on your own home world server count? Also, the Hunt isn't designed to accommodate world hopping because world hopping didn't exist when it was created. They haven't changed it to accommodate world hopping because they don't want players world hopping for hunts. They want players to be doing the hunts on the worlds they are currently playing on. Those mount achievements are intended to be done over the length of an expansion by those who use hunts as their primary end game.
I love the Hunt Trains! The fact that the players took a piece of content from the game and turned it into an entire community event is amazing.I think they're fine with the S ranks, other than players thinking they should be able to get to every one on every world.
What they don't like are the Rank A trains.
You're talking about turning one of the few pieces of content in the game that truly feels massively multiplayer into single player or co-op.
Thank you but no. There's plenty of other content that can be done solo or with a couple of friends, including the hunt bills and even rank As from older expansions that tend to get ignored.
How long does an A rank usually survive in a train?
If Hunts Train only has 50 peoples or less, A-Rank lasts for maybe a minute. If is 100 peoples in Hunts Train then has only 30 seconds before A-Rank down. If is 200 peoples in Hunts Train then lucky to get single hit in before A-Rank goes poof. If is 300 or more peoples in Hunts Train, don't even waste time attendings. Will be just too much stressfuls.
In my experience on aether trains on the latest expac they live long enough to do the tutorial attack and at least half of their actual mechanic, but die in seconds on packed trains, which aren't that rare depending on the patch.
Like the frog in Kozuma'uka manages its ring+donut+pie combo once at most, and the treant in Urqopacha usually dies before it can finish all four cleaves.
One hit is all you really need in order to get achievement credit. If you're doing it for the currency then that's when you really want to be in a party, as it's based on total enmity accrued.
- If you're a Tank, make sure you have your [Tank Stance] on, hit once or use a party buff.
- If you're a DPS, hit once or use a party buff - for Ranged you can even use Peloton.
- If you're a Healer, use a party heal, or just hit once or use a party buff.
I'll often use healer myself and I get full credit and rewards just using [Eukrasian Prognosis] or [Kerachole] as Sage or [Medica III] of [Asylum] as White Mage.
Well it is a development team that is not in touch with their game and Yoshi P. the most, sorry to say so, but been losing the respect over the last 2 expansions.
I don't agree with the strong language used by the OP. However, I believe his solution seems reasonable: if hunts appeared as FATE bosses (please make the timer on them long, so trains may still exist), content in The Hunt would be a lot more enjoyable. I am sure the hunt community would start running ARR, HW, and STB trains as well. Currently, many servers do not run trains for these enemies, as they are too weak to last more than a few seconds against maximum-level players. There are still many achievements tied to these mobs, and I believe the Hunt community would appreciate this resurgence
