The easiest way to fix this is by scaling the S and A ranks with player power, so they always feel like they do at the start of the expansion as well as having them just be fully realized bosses. Hunts used to be way more fun when servers were sperate and you had strictly that population. And we can get back to it feeling that way, but it def requires better scaling.

Wouldn't that, again, just get the players in who are interested in the rewards and not in the hunt itself?

A factor as to why hunts can be so toxic is that they are a scarce, but super convenient source for currency -- specifically tomes. This might be gatekeepy take, but if a player's main reason for participating in the hunt is that it's an easy source of currency then they are participating for the wrong reasons. The hunt should be for those who enjoy hunting. I feel these changes would go a long way to improving hunts short of reworking them them to be like FAES or Critical Engagements.

    - increase health, and damage of all hunt marks
    - dramatically reduce the amount of tomes dropped by all hunt marks at least by half
    - reduce spawn times for all hunt marks like several minutes for A ranks, and several hours for S ranks

These changes should reduce their scarcity, and convenience as a source for easy currency. It will also make getting the achievements easier which is a good thing as someone who has all the hunt achievements.

Exactly. There are many aspects of Final Fantasy XIV that are now wholly dependent on third-party programs and all-powerful cliques that aren't governed by Square Enix. For example, if you stumble upon a hunt in the overworld, you are not allowed to kill it like a regular mob. Doing is against the Prohibited Activities and will get you reported by the ruling clan. Square Enix likes this because they can have people "run the community" for free, much like volunteer moderators on other sites. And many people love this because they have a vested interest in maintaining existing power structures to exclude other players. If you don't own the particular Discord, you have no power and do not have the right to freely participate in a game feature. Many of you like this, and because of that, the Final Fantasy XIV community is a laughing stock across the Internet. It's unsustainable, but the rest of you knew that, didn't you?

100% false that it's against the Prohibited Activities policy. Replying hostilely to someone who is screaming at you for killing something out of train might get you a warning or ban but killing a hunt won't.

Somewhat true that the "ruling clan" might try to report you for playing the game as SE intends. It will depend on what data center you're on and who is playing at the time.

Stand your ground. They do not own the hunt marks nor can they force any player to follow their rules. If they begin harassing you, report it to the GMs. If they attempt to retaliate against you because you got one of their members banned for harassing you, report it to the GMs as well.

There are 2 things to 100% avoid with hunts. Do not manipulate a hunt mark or its mechanics in an attempt to kill other players (monster player kill or MPK). Just fight it where it spawned, don't drag it to other places. Also, do not reset a hunt that has already been pulled. If people were trying to wait for others still on the way, they can always choose to stop attacking to buy more time. Players have been banned for MPKs and resets.

It's also big exaggeration to say the community is a laughing stock across the internet. The internet doesn't care one way or another about this small community.

A lot of people sadly don't look that deep into how XIV functions internally community wise until the drama spills out and what you just said, is spelled out for them, in laymens terms.

I'm all for sensible S Rank Spawning, getting the achievements from it is kind of ridiculous right now.

Idk I know it's been a minute since I last checked but you are just one of the perplexing unique and individualized people on this topic.

So IGNORING the fact that you are saying one thing and defending it with a reason that contradicts it, you have an extreme bias over people who use a common medium of getting information on hunts (This is like saying you hate people who use a word because you hate TheSaurus and it slighted you) which already makes you, subjectively and objectively not the best person to speak for a community that you call a laughing stock. Silly Billy Pilled right here folks

Like if you are going to have half baked (if that) reasons that people missing S Ranks are whiney and shouldn't be upset, at least be caught up to the ToS that you said word for word "100% false that it's against the Prohibited Activates policy". You legit are looking at MPK in the ToS but happen to ignore???? Everything else that people are telling you but you say is wrong?? Early Pulling often RESULTS in MPK and that is just one thing. Have you heard of these funny lil words in the Prohibited Activates Guide you know like the back of your head such as: Nuisance Behavior? Obstructive Behavior? Mentioned once or twice but the fact that COMMUNITY AGREED UPON STANDARDS AND RULES BEING PURPOSEFULLY INTERFEARED WITH ARE AGAINST TOS??? Does any of that sound familiar my honey bunches of oats

Anyone else seeing this, if your annoyed by early pullers who do it constantly, report them. Each time. I've talked to 2 GMs, they told me to do it. They said its ToS. Also as this guy can not testify, it also is written out as being ToS! If people tell you it does nothing, ignore em its ToS. I love the hunt community but people like that dude does nothing for it, and will just say how bad it is when you you can only go up from where you crawl
