    The Hunt is garbage and needs to be fixed

    It's a terrible idea considering mounts are locked in such a limited resource - (rare S-rank marks).

    Here's how you fix it:

    1. Sync it within the radius of the hunt mark like a notorious monster. If the hunt is 50, turn everyone into level 45 or something.
    2. Scale it. The more people in the area, the bulkier it is.

    That should fix the god-awful hunt-sharing. Even if someone pulls it upon spawn, there should be enough time to get to it despite the godawful server transfer queues.

    Probably never gonna change but that's my two cents on it anyway.

    Hunts have always needed fixing. Once a hunt is called its dead before you can teleport to the area. I heard ones have third party programs that give them the location to hunts and another program that lets you teleport to them. I always find it fishy when one is called and right after there is hundreds of players there when no teleportal crystal is close by. I quit doing S rank hunts back in Stormblood because never could make it in time before it was dead.

    i always liked (not) how there are achievements for 1000 s-ranks and at the same time they say hunts are not intended to be done how the community is doing them

    what? is it intended for every player on himself spawning 1000 s-ranks and assembling everytime an alliance? a thousand times?

    Devs: The community is not doing hunts as they're intended to be!

    I'm pretty sure they don't like how they are being done right now and the reason the achievements are the way they are is because of how they are being done by players. Except that anything in HW or ARR dies as easily as an overworld mob so...

    I always thought the hunt should work more like treasure chests or battle leves: With personal monsters for your party only which nobody else can attack. You party up, everyone brings their hunting bills which then get shared with the party, you are spawning the mob, locating it and then killing it.

    Be the spawner and you won't miss out.

    If you're not the spawner, then you shouldn't be complaining about hunt sharing. You wouldn't get to participate if it weren't for the fact others were trying to share the information with you.

    Also, the Hunt isn't designed to accommodate world hopping because world hopping didn't exist when it was created. They haven't changed it to accommodate world hopping because they don't want players world hopping for hunts. They want players to be doing the hunts on the worlds they are currently playing on. Those mount achievements are intended to be done over the length of an expansion by those who use hunts as their primary end game.

    If you want to world hop to speed up how quickly you complete the achievement, accept that you do so at the risk of not getting there in time.

    Players are right there because they're the ones that spawned it, were already in the zone when it spawned or share linkshells with those who did. Contrary to popular belief, there is open world content and there are players who do that content. There have been numerous occasions I've been in a zone when something was spawned even though I was there for other reasons.

    If you're relying on linkshells and show up after it dies, you're in bad linkshells. See if you can get into better ones. If you're using the Discord mobile app, make certain you aren't on a power saver mode that delays notifications.

    People way overestimate how long it takes to get to a S rank. Most can be reached within one minute. The longest it will take is 3 minutes. How do I know? I've timed how long it takes to fly to the most awkward spawn points from the nearest teleport.

    It's hard to be sympathetic to those who complain that they arrived to a kill one minute late when some of us have already spent an hour or more in the zone trying to get the S rank to spawn in the first place and we're going to have to repeat it for the next spawn.

    They don't intend for every player to get the hunt achievements. They intend those who are willing to put in the effort over time (as in months/years, not days/weeks) to get them.

    You don't have to spawn everything yourself. Spawners share information with each other about what they're trying to spawn so people aren't duplicating efforts or to team up to make some spawns easier.

    I think they're fine with the S ranks, other than players thinking they should be able to get to every one on every world.

    What they don't like are the Rank A trains.

    You're talking about turning one of the few pieces of content in the game that truly feels massively multiplayer into single player or co-op.

    Thank you but no. There's plenty of other content that can be done solo or with a couple of friends, including the hunt bills and even rank As from older expansions that tend to get ignored.

    Then... about time to update that design of the Hunt to accomodate for world hopping, because this is way people are playing the game right now?

    Because the loophole (world hopping) is still there. People are using it for years already. And it is not part of the game design, when the player with better conneciton or plugins or, how you put it, "better" linkshells can get their achievement faster than other, while both did not participated in the spawn.

    yeah they don't like A rank trains because it trivializes the tomestone grind and lets people rapidly max gear compared to other means. This is especially true when people can chain them across servers. But to be fair, they have too many grinds in the game at end game so if people are using hunt trains as a substitute for the duty finder, I'm all for it.

    As some who has all the hunt achievements, I really wish hunts were more like big FATES like Chi or Archaeotania. Them currently just being just lazy currency piñatas is just not fun.
