    Catchup system for Island Sanctuary?

I was trying to figure out where to put this, but if they are adding new lifestyle content next expansion that is going to compete with island sanctuary, wouldn't it make sense to increase the exp gain for it?

I just came back to it at rank 10 and I'm not sure someone wants to run around in circles with a macro for 10 exp per 2-3 seconds just to get 42000+ exp. Especially once we get Dawn Trail and this is old news.

It's kind of weird, too. You'd think content that can almost run itself would be easy to just sit back and do it every week, but it gets boring and then it tapers off. I'd imagine someone just forgetting about it and not even stopping the automated feeding or what not until their supplies run out or they run out of currency to fund it.

Tbh most EXP is gotten from doing the crafts. Even doing them suboptimally and without care for supply-demand, you can still get decent chunk. Come in once a week, collect expedition mats, set expeditions to explore, collect cowries for the crafts, set them up for next week and forget about it till next week. Its a more in-depth and engaging version of Doman Reconstruction in that regard.

One person's "deep and engaging" is another person's tedious busywork, unfortunately. And they've locked so much exclusive glamour behind it that it's difficult to just stay away.

Island Sanctuary can be quite a lot to rank through with how many ranks it's got. Similar to how Eureka is.

But since Island Sanctuary can be reduced to just throwing any random crafts on the workshop and gathers on the granary for 5 minutes a week and doing any quests/tool crafts that unlock, you'll get there eventually.

Or you can skip it. Probably a lot of people will do that after Dawntrail releases unless they want the outdoor furnishing space or are a completionist.

Why are you running around in circles to get XP when you can get it for almost zero effort via the workshop, and more if you handle the pasture and cropland yourself instead of turning those over to the mammets?

There's no need to rush to Rank 20 for purely optional content that has vanity items as a reward, especially when it only takes up 10 minutes of time 3-4 days a week at most. Keep the workshops running at max capacity and add/upgrade buildings as soon as the option becomes available. The only manual gathering you should need to do is to get new building materials as they're unlocked.

If you find it boring, don't do it. That's the trap that too many players allow themselves to blindly run straight into. Developers tend to design content based on what players do, assuming that players are smart and stick to doing content they're enjoying. The only time they pay attention to actual feedback is if player behavior is substantially different from their expectations.

I eventually got tired of spreadsheets and gathering, so I pumped the breaks on my Island Sanctuary experience. I was probably around Rank 12 when that happened? Then I started spending about 2 minutes at the Island Sanctuary every time I login, and I'm almost at Rank 20. Here's my strategy:

    Animals
On days when I login, I collect all the resources from my 20 unfed animals.

    Crops
I never water my crops; they only get watered when I drop by while it's raining. When they're ready to harvest, I harvest them and plant new seeds.

    Crafting
All I care about is being able to craft stuff without running out of supplies. Months ago I found two related recipes that I seemed to have a lot of the supplies for, and I made a preset that alternates those recipes endlessly. One day per week, I put that preset in every lane for a single day, which when I collect will be enough to get the weekly blue currency bonus. What's the demand for these crafts I'm making? I don't know and don't care.

    Auto-gathering
I'm always having my mammet auto-gathering from 2 different locations to keep my supplies up for the Crafting. This also gives me the weekly blue currency bonus for gathering, even though I never gathered. Sometimes I forget to renew this at the right time but it's always fine.

    Progression
When new opportunities like upgraded buildings or new areas to gather or new tools appear, do them. Do the upgrades. Go gather 1 each of all the new resources so that your mammet can gather the rest.

That's all it takes to make efficient progress and keep making blue currency profit. It's taken a few months, but I'm almost at Rank 20, and it has taken minimal effort on my part. Hope this helps!

Just pay the mammets to automate them, and collect the stockpiles when you log in.

I suppose that would probably make sense for someone whose main focus is raising their rank. For me though, I'm more interested in accumulating the blue currency.

I'm guessing there would probably be a way to offset the costs of mammet automation if I crafted and sold the right things with the materials harvested, but my brain violently rejects putting any further effort towards figuring out what to craft because I find the process so draining.

You can already offset the price of the automation by selling the raw materials. Processing them is a bonus.
