The difficulty of procuring the proof will never be the reason to lessen the burden of proof. And you know why it makes sense? Because that's exactly how it works in real life, that's why it's called the "burden" of proof. It does not make any difference what the "excuse" is, and do you know why?

Because at the end of the day you are asking people to believe in a very serious accusation/problem with nothing beyond "trust me bro". You know what doesn't make sense, THAT's what doesn't make sense.

Yes, it worked as intended on that specific occasion. It doesn't mean that it works as intended every single time an owner enters their house.

This is like the fifth thread I've seen on this exact issue.

Sometimes it's from a poster who makes exactly one post about it blaming a glitch in the system, and never returns to add additional information or to confirm that it was actually their own fault. The poster is not able to describe what their timers menu was showing prior to the loss, because they were not in the habit of checking their timers menu. If the OP's wife was the owner, he is not coming back to admit it. So we're going to have a thread with 20 people spreading rumors of a bug that causes houses to demolish on their own, and no one confirming it was a user error.

Then the next guy who loses their house googles what the heck happened and they find this thread where everyone talks about "the glitch". They start to wonder: it has to be this glitch, right? Wasn't I just recently at my house? And so a new glitch thread is created. That's why you keep seeing these threads.

It should be enough to enter, and it usually is.
I have seen reports here on the forums saying that you sometimes need to interact with something inside the house to actually have the demolition timer reset. If that ever happens, it is a bug.
Personally I have never encountered that bug (if it even exists.) For me, just entering the house has always been enough.

I should check next time one of my rarely used (and less important) properties runs down. But entering and using something (even leaving via the front door) has been the forum advice for a while now.

You just need to enter the house.
Some people say it's better to interact with something to help prevent this bug from happening but there's 0 evidence of that being true or not.

If you're right and it's a bug, you should be posting this in the bug report forum or just emailing SE.

If you're wrong and just got confused about the auto demolition timer, nobody will do anything.

Only things posting here will get you are people redirecting you to where you should be posting/contacting or accuse you of being a liar not telling the whole story etc because XIV's team and CS can do no wrong ever.

What situation?

We know his wife was involved so there's a 50% chance shes the owner and this is a non issue. We also know from previous bugs and exploits that this community is very good at finding proof of the bugs existence and the source condition of the bugs, yet nobody has found any proof of this one beyond "because I said so". Which is more likely; that there's a bug out there with no proof of its existence or his wife failed to maintain the house?
