If Moi liked it, it was worth it.
If Moi didn't like it, it was not.
Only Moi can say.

Plot 7, Ward 22, Shirogane, Faerie
Noir... It is the name of an ancient fate. Two maidens who govern death; the peace of the newly-born Noir hands protect.
If you want the Fledgling Apkallu minion (which only needs you to get entries 1-80), the Veteran Explorer and Crimson Explorer titles (getting HW's entries 43-62 and SB's 46-62 entries respectfully), and all the painting furniture based on the sights you can buy in Idyllshire (which each one needs their respective expansions achievement to unlock), then sure. Otherwise, maybe not. (っ´ω`c)
The ARR ones had some very nice sights to view. They were thoughtful and made sure the scape was actually appropriate to view.
But in HW and beyond they began to get kinda worse and worse, forgetting the actual idea behind them. They'll make your character stand nose-up against a wall and be like "yep this is it" and you're wondering what the heck you were looking at, when all along it was the structure in full viewed from above; you'd be unable to see such since no perch exists to showcase it. With no weather restrictions many of them were covered up by sandstorms or rain and I couldn't see whatever it was supposed to be talking about and the game was like "yep you did it horray"
So "worth it" can differ from player to player. As an actual experience, it dropped off a cliff.
For some easy achievements it's never been dumber to get.

I think they are worth it to an extent. The ARR ones actually force you to go at a certain time and/or weather. There's a few later on that are actually quite a puzzle to work out.
My more annoyance with the system is that they kinda just stopped caring about it.
I personally did it because I want access to paintings for my house, I was waking up at god awful times. I'm glad they stopped doing it, waiting for a vista to come around while a beautiful scene...some of them went on 60hour+ CD...
I did it a second time on another char and made sure to try and get some pictures, some were really beautiful, sadly my HDD ripped and that journey is lost but the memory was nice. I don't really stop to enjoy the vistas on other expansions much, there's one time based in The Ruby Sea that's really beautiful....
I think like others said, worth it or not is up to you, ultimately it unlocks paintings you can buy for frames for your house/apartment.
If you want the paintings for appartment/house or the minion, it may be a fun thing to do while waiting for dungeon queues
Other than that, I would't give it much effort unless you are an archievement point hunter
ARR makes you look up what to do and takes a while to finish because of timed windows, but gives a cool minion. Expansions are a decent scavenger hunt, making you check every part of a zone, but doesn't give anything noteworthy.
One day we'll get a giant pair of binoculars as a mount for completing the Sight Seeing Log and then it will be worth it.
If I'm 5 seconds into a Rez please don't use Swift Cast and steal my glory. Just let me waste the MP.
So far I can't even get one. I go to one and it's not the right time. So I wait but then it's raining or not the right weather. I can't even tell if there's XP because I've never been able to be at the right time, the right weather, or the right platformer jumping game spot.
Seems like a real waste of time to me.
