Difficulty of ARR content with min ilv

Hi, some friends were looking for a video game to play together recently and I obviously told them about that award winning game whose free trial allows you to reach lv 70, experience the full content (minus pvp) of 2 expansion yadiyada

So now those cute little sprout are around 5.1-5.4 and I've thought, it'd be fun to make them explore raiding.

They aren't especially good player but they're not terrible either. Considering that, how hard would it be to do the basic trials with min ilv at lv 50? Would it be really hard, as in, "high" dps check (like tier1 savage+) and 1 shotting AoE if unmitigated or would it be decently doable?

Because I know that if we'd just do "sync" we'd just roll over the countent until we'd, eventually, reach Shiva. Ifrit would obviously be destroyed by a group of players with max lv50 ilv so that'd be pretty boring, but I don't want to bring them to something that'd be way too hard.

The same question would also apply to the Bahamut raid.

Most (all?) of the normal trials/dungeons/raids are designed to be done with an ilvl close to the minimum ilvl.
It should be quite doable with a set of decent players, but it will not be a face-roll. Expect a wipe here and there until all mechanics are learned, but nothing too bad.

The Coils of Bahamut raid is another matter though. While it can be done at minimum ilvl, it is hard. Savage difficulty before they started calling things "Savage". You really need to know how to handle the mechanics there, with not much room for error.

I meant the extreme, not just the normal story version.

Alright ty, I guess we'll see. Perhaps adjusting with +20% echo would be enough to lower the difficulty for bahamut

You had mentioned "basic trials" so thinking you were referring to Normal or Hard, not Extreme, is understandable.

Since we don't know what standard you use when you judge their ability as "decent", it's hard to say how well things would go at minimum ilvl.

I would ask how "failure tolerant" your friends are. Some players rise to the occasion when they hit a wall. Some get easily discouraged.

If they're the former, go ahead and give MINE a try for the first clear. If they're the latter, I'd start with normal syncing then switch to MINE if they are clearing as easily as you think they will.

Yeh after rereading I realised that, in my head basic trials are just... like... arr's extreme cuz the mechanic are realllyy basic.(but definitely the words I chose weren't the adequate)

I actually do not know how patient they are... I prog Ultimate so I'm very patient.
I'm expecting a few wipes but I don't know if they'll give up after 3 wipes or after 30.

I thought of starting with normal syncing but the issue I have is that, the first thing they'll experience will feel like "the default difficulty". If I go from normal syncing to MINE, mine will feel like they went from normal to hard, but if we go from MINE to normal sync, it will like they went from normal to easy.

I think it's better to go from MINE to normal sync, if it's too hard, we go normal sync and then they can still be happy about clearing it.
Or complain that the gap between the 2 is just absurd (pretty sure the gap in difficulty will be enormous, I did Zordiark+Hydealin recently... it was surprising how little dmg the boss did with everyone having 650+)
