That's a very toxic attitude.
People should play how they want , you don't pay their subs in fact NIN should have 2 skills and catters to our special- casual base player.

I see them using mudras all the time. I saw people dumping doton on single targets so much that I made my search info a PSA telling people not to do that.
I think this is because tank stances are pretty confusing, most people aren't going to know what enmity means, but yeah I've seen it a couple of times myself... But i've seen things like level 90 Gladitors so I'm used to seeing wild things in ff14.
They could do a better job at explaining how dots potency is calculated, then people might stop doing single target dotons
Also a complete NIN leveling rework, the way the kit is assembled is absolute garbage.
You go from 1-2-3 spam for the first 40 levels and suddenly boom like 5 Mudras (including one that is completely useless until like 30 more levels) and trick attack suddenly usable in the span of a few levels.

In all my 12+ years playing XIV I've never seen a Lv40+ NIN that doesn't use their Mudras.
I do see them using single target doton a lot however. Which is annoying enough.
NIN are like MNK, you see one once every full moon or so.
They are garbage outdated classes, so barely no one plays them
Actually, it is one of those jobs where I had to ask someone who was a main how to do the mudra. This is one job where the order you place things on your hot bar matters A LOT.
Using Doton before engaging is probably old muscle memory that hasn't been corrected. You used to be able to do Doton and then immediately hide before it hit anything to reset your Mudras for 2 extra Ninjutsu. I don't remember when they removed that, but it was semi recent.
It has a lot of problems, that's for sure. Visually, the job is pretty cool. Unfortunately, its skillset is a convoluted cobweb of nonsense that rips the fun out of the job once the novelty of it wears off.
NIN is a job I want to like, but every time I dust it off and take it into content I am reminded of why I shelved it. Mudras are vastly improved from previous versions, and are not nearly as much of a problem as the ninjitsu itself. A long time ago in the DPS forum, I suggested that mudra combinations could be reworked to unlock a style à la Naruto currently known as Raiton, Doton, Huton, etc. that are a status instead of being the names of the skills themselves. While the NIN is under a status/style of their choosing, they are granted access to 2-3 ninjitsu that flow like weaponskill combos pertaining to that style. The ninjitsu button is the only one required to execute all of these skills.
With this system, you do not need Kassatsu to gain access to skills like Goka or Hyosho as they are subsequent ninjitsu combos. You can also fit skills like Forked/Fleeting Raiju and Hollow Nazuchi all under these effects instead of having the ridiculous amount of buttons to push like we do now. It also makes TCJ redundant as it is a completely garbage skill in its current state as nothing should compromise a NIN's mobility. This would allow them to truly be a magical ranged/melee hybrid class and make the skillset flow like it should.
Skills like Meisui and Kassatsu should not be oGCDS, but rather buffs that improve the effectiveness of ninjitsu and are granted by playing the job correctly.
